Now, you are automatically given a warning if you are travelling 20 MPH over the speed limit or below, especially if you're driving a nice new vehicle, late for a meeting, and the Lt. Governor of Texas, or his aide.

This story is the biggest bunch of B.S. I've heard in awhile. I've gotten a ticket from the DPS for FIVE, REPEAT FIVE freakin' miles over the speed limit on the interstate. This guy's not on the interstate going 20 MPH over, the passenger gets out TWICE to hurry things along, and all he gets is a warning? If I'm a passenger who gets out to "hurry things along", I'm probably getting a gun pointed at me.

    Something is seriously wrong here.

What I want to know, if Rick Perry was in such a hurry to get to a meeting (a briefing about the recent elections in Mexico, something that probably could have waited until he got there), and he was coming from San Antonio, why didn't he take the interstate. That would be the quickest way, despite the construction.

Tickets should not be given at the discretion of the officers, especially if they are 20 MPH over the speed limit.

Just because you're white and play basketball doesn't mean you're a Matt Bullard clone, despite idiotic accusations to the contrary.

I'll take my chances with the DPS and all those small town cops. My friends have gotten tickets for driving 5 MPH over the speed limit on I-10 but I have never. I use a radar and I guess I have been lucky.

Has anyone driven triple digits on the Interstate? That is either very brave or very stupid.

When I got my new car, I went down I-45 at about 120. Yes, very stupid and very ... no, not brave, just very stupid. After driving a 4 cylinder for so long I just got a silly urge to floor my new 6 cylinder.

I promise never to do it again... until I get my Viper... *drool*... and that'll be on a track. [IMG]
