Every other places that I went to was selling this with activation for $200-230 but for some reason this asian place in Dynasty on Bellaire sold two for $100 each or one for $50!
This is what I just upgraded to this weekend. I used to have the Seimens SX66 but it was too heavy and bulky plus it didn't have nearly as many features. I know most people wouldn't like it because it is kind of thick but it has everything. I'm just waiting for my 2GB miniSD and bluetooth earpiece to come in. I love this phone!! Here are some of the specs: * Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz for enhanced global use * Windows Mobile 5.0* * 128MB ROM / 64MB SDRAM * TI OMAP 200MHz Processor * Integrated, sliding QWERTY keyboard * 2.8" QVGA 320x240 64K Color LCD Touch Screen * Integrated Bluetooth Class II * Integrated 802.11b support * Integrated Mini-SD slot for greater storage and expansion * Optional 1.3 mega-pixel camera
I just recently got the 6700 for sprint. I still can't believe they only put the 200mhz processor in the 8125. I guess it helps with Battery life a bit but still would want a faster processor. I love mine after some great hacks and program adds to make functionality perfect.
They are probably bringing in versions from Asia that they just unlock and not the ones that are directly built for the phone company here that has any software or upgrades that the phone companies do to them.
That was my only hesitation since the SX66 had a 400 MHz processor in it but from the little I have used it, it runs better than my SX66. I've installed several apps and it runs with very little lag time. The internet is definitely faster and the browser has much more functionality. I'm hoping to run a lot of my games and stuff from the miniSD that I am getting so that it can use extra space for more memory. So far, I haven't had a problem with it at all. Windows Mobile 5 is also a decent upgrade over PocketPC 2003.
I really really wish Nokia would hurry up and release this phone in the U.S. I want it so bad i'm considering buying an unlocked version even though it doesn't work on the 850 band. Most of T-Mobile is 1900 anyways which it does work on, however I would prefer to have the U.S version, if they ever release it. Nokia 9300 Communicator
I go to www.pdaphonehome.com a lot. They have all kinds of usefull tips. Well the first one would be to stop that stupid "Text Message Sent" hack so you have to dismiss every time you send a text message. With the hack you don't getthe confirmation. (This works on the 8125..did it for my friend) Then one to stop the end button from turning the phone onto flight mode when you hit it a couple times or accidently hold it in your holster or something. Was a pain in the ass. The phone kept turning off a lot accidently. The last one and the best program they managed to hack from older versions of the phone which for some reason the Verizon and cingular versions come with and the Sprint version doesn't is the Smart Dialer program. Basically you can just use T9 on the keypad and it brings up your contacts that match so you can dial one handed instead of trying to go through your contacts which is a a hell of a time. All the other versions of the phone come with it but sprint left it out. There are also ways to delete the preinstalled software that sprint puts on that you don't need so you can free up memory. You should definitly check the site out if you have a phone with pocket pc or a treo..they have a lot of ways to fix problems and enhance your phones.
No problem...trust me you will thank me a bunch of times. The sticky thread Tips and Tricks, is one great thread..you can learn all the main stuff there...from all the stuff i told you to changing colors on your phone through the registry.
is there any contract involved? I currently have an Audiovox SMT5600 w/WM2003 and I'm looking for a new phone..this looks interesting
It's thinner than a RAZR... oooh quick...run and get one! I'm looking for a decent PDA phone that runs Windows. But all the ones with deals have a ton of rebates which I don't like. I also don't really want a Blackberry because they're just goofy looking. I'd prefer something like that Toshiba that I think Verizon or Cingular sells or that new Treo 700w that runs Windows Verizon carries. The Samsung t809 from TMobile looks fairly nice, too. If you guys don't mind rebates, check out places like amazon.com or buy.com. The only problem with Amazon is I don't think they let you keep your old number. I believe Buy.com does (but I'm not sure if they do in all cases).
