Don't know if this has been posted yet but here's a scoop from our buddy Nomar: I was driving on 610 today around the Galleria and I noticed a new Rockets billboard. It was just the new logo in white, and the background was a dark red. It looked very similar to Rocketeer's version, rather than the Chronicle version. It was pretty badass. That's all, carry on. Pics anyone?
It was probably this one: This is not Rocketeer's, but actually the one off the Rockets website. They are very similar to each other though.
Yep, said it was that one. On a sidenote, I really miss the Ming "Be Part of Something Big" board that was on 225 by Pasadena High on my drive home from work everyday.
i saw it too. luckily when i was driving there i had a disposable camera with me. i've just come from walgreens where i had the pictures developed in a hour. is this the billboard you saw too?
There's one on 59 that you can see when you go south right past the 610 loop.. I saw the both the one by the Galleria and this other one on my way home today.
They Need to do a BatMan Spot Light and shine it in the Sky.. That would be cool from Clutch City to Gotham City...
That looks much better than the other one that we all saw. (the red one). I'm really looking forward to getting a Yao jersey, when are the uniforms coming out?
i gotta say that if that is the color of our jerseys we could very much look like the cavs jerseys but with silver. still like it though

Don't think we haven't thought about it. It's actually trickier to do than it sounds, but we haven't entirely given up on it. And no, no jetstreams or vapor trails coming off the player letters or numbers. Whaddaya think we are, freaks? Tim

Man, those billboards look gay. First of all, since there are few people in Houston who care about the Rockets, I bet most people don't even know what that "R" stands for. I bet even fewer people will stop and ponder what the "R" stands for. This attempt by the Rockets to market themselves is just horrible.
i saw the billboard on 610 on the way to work and thought it was sweet as hell. by this time a good number of people probably know what it is and in time everyone will.
well these did come out around the time we were supposed to start seeing them floating around. Also they had the guy on whos got game on mtv wearing it. So if the chron didnt get it i take it that is where we would have got our first glimpses
