Have ya'll seen the new billboards around town. I have just seen the one on 59 and Kirby-ish, with Biggio. It has Biggio swinging and it says "Sting like a B." A friend of mine also says they got one around his house with Pettite, and it says "Mound over Batter." I guess this year's motto is also "It's On!" I think the billboards are very clever, and will hopefully help more Houstonians become fans. Of course, winning does that the best. The billboards are a good start, and I just can't wait for the season. There is a lot of negativity about it, but I have a good feeling about it this year (of course I do every year). With a bunch of young guys, let's just say it'll be interesting.
I am interested in seeing the others. I am guessing there has to be one for Bagwell and Clemens. If you see new ones let us know how they are...
There's a Biggio one right at my exit off I-10. I got home from work yesterday and my son was like, "Dad!! Dad!!! There's a big picture of Biggio by our house!!!"
theres a pettite one on hwy 6, just north of westheimer... looks pretty cool. thats the only one ive seen so far
There's a Bagwell one on 45-north.... says "Bags everything" (he's fielding a ground ball) So far, I think their "puns" are pretty clever.
There is one of Berkman playing flag football. Actually, there is one of Berkman on 290 near 34th. You can see it as you head East towards the loop.
Heard Lance's voice on the radio the other day saying, "This is Lance Berkman. Obesity is one of the greatest health risks facing Americans today...." I couldn't hear the rest over my own laughter.
