I just bought my 12 game package for this year and the salesman for the Rockets told me that holders of any season ticket package this year will not have to purchase a PSL in the new arena. In other words, if you've got season tickets now, you're exempted from buying the PSL next year. Get'em while they're hot!
PSL stands for "Private Seating License". The philosophy behind it is interesting. In essence, buying the PSL "gives you the right" to purchase season tickets. It's like an equity stake in the new facility. I just paid thousands for PSL's at Reliant Stadium (home of the Houston Texans football team), and want to avoid that scam when the new Rockets arena is opened.
PSL = Personal Seat License You pay for a PSL in order to be guaranteed a chance to purchase season tickets at a new arena. PSL holders also get advanced notice of when regular season tickets go on sale, and they get first choice on playoff tickets... Basically, it's a way for sports teams to screw their fans out of more money...
I just bought 2 Mobley 12 pack's myself. My salesman told me that no one must buy a PSL. He said, "We will have first options on season tix for new arena next year."
I've never heard of a basketball team charging its customers for PSL. I dont think the Rockets are going to have that PSL crap.
All I know is what the guy told me on Monday when I purchased the tickets/// I agree, sounds pretty sorryass to me too. I watch the arena construction from my office window, and it looks like a palace so far.
around 3, but that's 4 pretty decent seats.... corner area just off the home bench, approx. 12 rows up.

Two points for R0ckets03. We're still finalizing pricing for the new arena, but we don't plan to do PSLs. We did our fan research, and did what we thought would be the fan-friendly choice. Hardeji, I'm jealous of your view. When I want to get a look at the arena, I have to drive there or click on the web cam, both of which I do often. (The webcam does make for a nice piece of motivational desktop wallpaper, though.) Neither is as good as getting to see it go up live and in person. (For anybody who hasn't found the webcam -- there are links on several different sites around town, and you can find one of them at the bottom of the rockets.com home page.) Glad to hear the continued positive feedback about the ticket packages. One option to make sure everybody is aware of -- if you buy a 12-pack or a 6-pack (or a half-season, for that matter), you have the option to buy tickets for opening night or the final regular season game in Compaq before they go on sale to the general public. Think of it as "super-sizing" your order. Just call your Rockets rep or e-mail me if you need more details, and we'll take care of you. Tim, Nice of you to drop in to show that you care where the true Rocket fan are. Ask Rudy to do the same. It'll be a zoo here if he does.
