It drops on the 31st, but like every album, it's already been leaked...

5 mics if you ask me. nice album. most of the album is produced Kanye, and you can tell...

    your thoughts?

Why do Chicago rappers seem to all have better vocabularies than rappers from other cities?

    Kanye West
    Lupe Fiasco
    Common Sense
    Twista

    Hell, even Da Brat...

Shameless promo: Let me throw in Soulstice/Wade Waters. Probably closest to Common on your list. From Chicago, up and commers, and coincidentally brothers of one of my close friends (we all coincidentally hung out last weekend when they visited Florida). It helps that he's got a masters in EE and works for the Department of Defense.

Is it better than "BE"? I thought that album was great.

Whoa, BE was classic in my opinion. If it can even match BE, Common will skyrocket up my list of great emcees, not to mention if it surpasses it.

I'm just happy that we have artists that are not only doing something different than the everyday emcee, but actually doing it well. Just doing something different for the sake of doing something different doesn't mean anything if it is not done well.

I digress, heh, really looking forward to this.

How does it compare to 'Resurrection', 'One Day It'll All Make Sense' or 'Like Water for Chocolate'? Those are his best albums.

I disagree. I have enjoyed BE more than his other albums. That's me though. Everyone has their own opinion.

Yeah, I'd rate BE my second favorite Common...Haven't given the new one a listen yet, though.

That's good to hear. I was getting some mixed reveiws from another board, but now that the actual album's out (and not just a leak) everyone seems to be enjoying it.
