"It combines micro-printing with tiny lenses _ 650,000 for a single $100 bill. The lenses magnify the micro-printing in a truly remarkable way.

Move the bill side to side and the image appears to move up and down. Move the bill up and down and the image appears to move from side to side."

Kind of odd how the $100 is the last bill to get redesigned (well, other than the $1 and $2 bills.).

Is it just me or should we have $200, $500, or $1000 bills? $100 as the largest bill made sense when things cost 5 cents, but not anymore...

well with most people using credit/debit cards, it would seem like overkill.

It would be interesting to see how much cash is actually carried by people today vs 10, 20, 30 years ago. I try to keep cash on me but there are times when i do days with no bills in my pocket and i just use debit card.

Hell, sometimes even if i have cash i will use a debit card because it's usually faster than having the person behind the counter count change.

True. I always carry cash on me but just about $200. Twenties are all I need.

I don't know, but Mattress Mac seems to be happy with 1/2 dollar bills.

Why you carry that much $ in your wallet? No one does. And a $200 bill doesn't make sense.

Agreed. Unless you're on your way to purchase a large amount of drugs or guns why would you be carrying around THOUSAND dollar bills? And a $200 bill IS silly, you can't just carry two hundos?? I think the status-quo is fine here.

It's more important that they make them different sizes for the blind. It will also harder to do the 5 to 100 dollar counterfeit trick. But, this will probably cost a lot to retool the minting machines. Vending machines will have problems too.

I charge everything on my American Express (as long as they accept American Express). Anything from $1.25 for coffee to expensive electronic equipment. SPG points FTW...

Hey, a little less time re-designing 5's and 100's every two weeks and a little more time regulating banks?

I have to admit it was getting old use to new $100s.

Oh, my bad, it wasn't, because this was the second major redesign of the $100 since 1929.

Oh, and dammit, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing needs to get on bank reform pronto!
