We just got news flashes this afternoon (Tuesday afternoon at about 3), the news stations came over with a news flash telling us we are under a Lake Effect (Lake Erie) Snow Warning from Thursday through Friday. They're expecting us to get anywhere from 1 to 3 feet of snow between the two days. This is crazy stuff. They say we could get whiteout conditions. This will be my third winter to go through (the snow has started falling tonight already), but I've never seen anything like this. I'm kind of pumped.
I can't say the thought of moving to [pick any direction and insert here] New York really crossed my mind.
Watertown, NY where they measure the snow in feet, not inches. There dreaming of a white Thanksgiving.......
We're driving up to my house in the Catskills this afternoon (about three hours north of NYC). I just sopke to my neighbor and she said that they've had 5 inches of snow and are expecting another 6 to 12 by the end of the day tomorrow! A white Thanksgiving!
looking forward to playing baseball in the backyard with my 5 year old on Thanksgiving...wearing shorts
you have to take the good and the bad with any place you live. houston is far from perfect. get over it homers.
I thought Syracuse was ugly (30 days of sunshine a year), then I saw Rochester (Windiest city on the planet), then I saw Buffalo and it got even worse. These have got to be three of the worst places to live as far as weather goes. It's just brutal.
who here said houston was perfect? do you have to be argumentative in every post you make?? if there's not an argument, do you feel compelled to start one?
My companies headquoartes and manufacturing plant is in rochester, ny... wow, what a dump. I get the priveledge of going there about 5 times a year. Blah....
It was pretty cool when it snowed a few snow flakes last year. This year, I am greedy. I want a damn blizzard, and not one from DQ.
i just didn't see any implication of it at all. i thought you were being a wee bit sensitive, frankly. some guy talked about the weather being nice in austin. i talked about appreciating being able to play baseball and wear shorts on Thanksgiving. the guy who started and titled the thread actually lives up there. that was it.
Yep, just woke up and went downstairs, and the warning was going across the tv again. They say on top of the snow, they expect wind gusts up to 40 mph.
