The Wizard is downright awful. Why did we get rid of Bullard? At least he does miss as many shots as Walt. Please Dan Langhi come back! The Wizard belongs on the Wizards.

Id rather have BUCK JOHNSON than Walt Williams.

I wonder where all the Wizard fans are now? The ones who thought he was actually a good pick up back then. Wasnt Wizard a coveted player by Rudy much in the sense that Rice was, in that he was someone Rudy was eyeballing for a while? I said from day one that Walt was a horrible pick up, even for a disgruntled Pippen. I still dont know how some one who has a lifetime .420 shooting percentage was ever by anyone in here, considered a sharpshooter. He's as poor a defender as Charles was. The only thing walt brings to the table is the ability to once in a while go for 20 or so.

This is the ONE thing I HATE about Rudy, why he keeps going back to Walt's sorry ass after 3 HORRIBLE years in Houston.

Why not let us see what Langhi or Tmo have to give?

Langhi? You're joking? Walt is and always will be a better player then Lanky. If you look at the stats, Walt actually outplayed Glen Rice. Now, Rice is my favorite player for the Rockets, but Walt did better than him. Of course watching the game you wouldn't see this, but look at the stats.

    Wizard: 16min 2-6shooting 1board 1asst 0TO 4points

    Rice: 29min 2-8shooting 1board 1assist 1TO 5points

So don't give Rice time to "get his legs" and not allow Wizard to prove himself. I remember watching? or reading something about Walt about how he didn't get the chance to play too much basketball this summer, I can't recall the reason. The point is, both those guys stats are HORRIBLE. Why bash one without doing so for the other? I wouldn't mind seeing Torres come in, he really impressed me with his play in the preseason. Tmo I'd like to see go in for KT, after preseason defense by Kenny, he hasn't showed anything to me. I was reading an article earlier about how Garnet ate up KT AND Griffin? I don't think so, Griffin held his own and actually scored on the offensive end. Maybe that's why Eddie played longer than KT, hopefully now RT will let him start. Or atleast before the All-Star break.

Actually, I read somewhere that Walt was in very good shape coming into training camp.

<i>"So don't give Rice time to "get his legs" and not allow Wizard to prove himself"</i>

There's no excuse for Walt to be playing like crap, if he indeed is in good shape. Rice on the other hand, hasn't played at all, and it is very fair to give him time to get his legs.

LongTimeFan must be a joke as a name because if you were a LONGTIMEFAN, then you would know that Walt has been sucking since he got here. With the exception of one 20 game stretch at the end of his first year here Walt Williams has been the biggest JOKE on the Rockets.

He is slow of foot, can't defend, and the only redeeming quality of his is the ability to hit the three, and guess what? He has not done that well either.

Glenn Rice on the other hand has been the MAIN GO TO guy in 2 NBA cities, he has averaged over 26ppg in an entire season.

My point about Langhi and TMO, is that we have NO IDEA what they are capable of because Rudy won't sit that sad piece of CRAP Williams on the bench.

Williams should be glued to the bench for the remainder of his time here in Houston, the only thing he should have to take a shower for after the game is to loosen his skin up in order to get the splinters out of his ASS !!

Yes, Williams was in good shape, I didn't say he WASN'T, I said he didn't play too much basketball this summer. So obviously, he lifted weights and didn't work on his game. I remember hearing that somewhere, I just cant remember where. I'm not using this as an excuse for him, but I believe he should have a chance to warm up as well. So his shots rusty, but when Rice starts coming through and Williams is still far-off, then I'll agree with you. As for dakota.. heh..:

I think everyone can see the key word in that sentence is has. What has he done for the Rockets? The Wiz HAS been a great three point shooter in the past. and you ask yourself what has he done for the Rockets? Let's try to even out the playing ground there. 2 NBA cities? Are you sure they weren't towns? Or maybe Villages? Yes, he averaged alot of ppg in his prime, but he's not in his prime anymore. Walt neither. Now they are just role players. I'd really like to see Torres come in, and Tmo for KT. I'd like to see future draft picks for Langhi, but I don't get everything I want.

Give Glen Rice some time and a chance. He has a proven track record- sharpshooter. Think how stupid the Lakers -God Jerry West must have felt trading Eddie Jomes and Elden Campbell for Rice. Shaq wanted a sharp shooter.

Anyway- Walt Williams is a streaky shooter. We should just make the best of a weak situation. Play Rice first - Walt for brief minutes if his game is on, and TMo and Torres should get some minutes when these old horses can't shoot.

You could not get anything for Rice, Williams, and Langhi in a package. I can't believe we have this much money tied up in these losers-Rice and Williams, but there is nothing else to do- we are stuck with these guys - we should make the best of it.

I take Walt over Rice. But rather have Morris and Griffin on the floor. Not a Walt fan nor Rice fan!Sorry,But can't really rely on them both.

Walt stinks. He jacks up lots of OPEN shots and misses all of them. BULLARD IS BETTER THAN WALT.

It's Walt's fault if he's too stupid to work on his shot over the summer... Rice on the other hand, was sidelined by injuries. Either way, this is not a new pattern for Walt... he's a streaky shooter, plain and simple... and well I, for one, am tired of it. I'd rather see Rudy develop the young talent in Tmo and Langhi behind Rice instead of playing Walt.

Walts f/g% was only 26% before tonights game. Thats the lowest percentage for any player other than TMo and he has only played seven minutes all year. Walt has missed all three of his shots so far so his f/g percentage is even worse than 26 percent.

Unfortunately the Rockets problem seems to be on the defensive end of the floor tonight and not Walts performance. Having said that I would like to see more of TMo.

OMG Walt sucks! He missed those open shots, airballed a few. That clutch three was a fluke. Those key assist at the end were a fluke. Tmo would have done the same if he were in Walt's position. There's a reason he plays, wake up.

Thanks for making that comment. Without Walt tonight we would not have won. He made some critical decisions that setup some easy points.

Granted Wiz isn't Hardaway but he's what we got. He's a solid performer and puts out more than just his stat line. He's a little slow but he seems to be involved in big plays when it counts. Plus he doesn't make silly mistakes...a nice role player.

TMO can't be counted on for that...yet.

Wiz played ok, but I would still take my chances with a younger TMO or Langhi getting the backup minutes.

Who is to say we don't win by more if one of those guys played?

I completely agree. I would add that Walt did the most damage playing the 4. His footspeed is OK for a 4 and his extra long arms are good for rebounding and some shot blocking/changing :)

Walt is a terp. As long as Francis has his way. Walt stays....

What ever Francis wants he gets.... Look at Moochie and his 6yr/23 mil...

In fact I like the fact our ballclub is like a tight knit family. That is why we have heart. Walt has heart..He might sux...but he has heart...Moochie has heart... Mobley has heart... Cato is getting fitted for a heart... and we will see if we can get Rice to open up his heart...

You guys should get your facts straight before you bash Walt!

Here are his shooting lines for the first four games.

    Atlanta 0-5 16 min.

    LAC 5-15 30 min.

    Minnesota 2-6 16 min.

    Phoenix 2-5 22 min.

    Carry on.

    9 fer 31?!

This guy is a regular gunner! Good thing we play him for his stellar defense and rebounding ability...
