Ok, so we got to play Halo over our school network. But we can't play people from other dorms because I think we're on a node. Whatever that means. I know like nothing about computers. So we're using GameSpy tunneling software to play other people. But we can't host games because of something to do with our school's network i think. We took down the firewall, but it freezes after like 3 seconds. I think we need to enable port 8602 or something like that. Does anybody know how we do that?
If you are using a NAT or firewall, you will need to open (forward) two ports for incoming traffic if you are going to host games. They are 6500 (UDP, for GameSpy Arcade) and 6700 (UDP, for GameSpy Tunnel) How do I do this? Also, if any CC.Net'ers feel like getting their asses handed to them in a game of Halo, feel free to play us. Our GameSpy name is harris1. BRING IT, AND BE HUMPED SOUNDLY!
You've obviously never played Halo multiplayer. Come on people, I need help on this. Please respond. Thanks.
UPDATE: We disabled the firewall on the computer that has the tunneling software... We don't need the port thing cause we don't have a router i don't think. The problem is our college has a hardcore firewall i think. Please respond with ideas. Thanks.
Did you have some type of document to sign in regards to: Terms of Usage of the college's computer equipment & networking systems?
Hey Nomar, I can't help you but what's your username on GameSpy? I don't know how to host games either, I just find rooms to play in.
I think that he's implying that your college network probably has proper usage guidelines that wouldn't allow the use of an X-Box to play online games I don't know anything about X-Box, but if your college has halfway-decent network admins, you ain't getting around their firewall
Thanks for the help Mango and GBRocks. BMW - Actually, I made a mistake. We are on XBConnect. Our name is "harris1". Lets play sometime.
