    I've always used Internet Explorer
I'm wondering what if any significant
difference would i notice in using NETSCAPE

    what other browsers are there?
What would be good or bad about them?

The reason I'm looking at Netscape is
    because it seems to have
browsing, mailing etc all in one
    rather than IE and Outlook

I like out look but i'm looking to
learn more in general .. . cannot get to
    stuck in a rut

The main difference I notice between the two is that MSIE integrates newer technology a lot sooner than Netscape does.

I like the look and feel of netscape a lot better than MSIE and it seems to me like it runs java better.

That sounds to me like a VERY good rundown on the two. Netscape does run java applets better.

IE is more integrated with newer technology and I prefer it most times because it is better for viewing sites. There aren't as many ways to screw up html tags for IE as there are for Netscape. :)

I prefer Netscape, although I'm not really sure why. The one thing that really annoys me about it is that it crashes VERY often for me. Going to Java-intensive pages (like the ESPN homepage) will cause it to crash about half the time. When that happens, I lose all of my open NS windows, which really sucks.

I used to like Netscape, till AOL bought them out. As predicted, it turned out sh#tty.

But after thinking about it, it makes sense. You have two corporate giants at war. AOL and Microsoft. Microsoft is about to be split in two because of one main reason ... a monopoly on their browser. Netscape was kicking ass and this was hindering AOL.

So what does AOL do? Eliminate the competion, very much how Stalin burned down his own city's so the Germans would starve in the winter. They keep netscape around just enough to call it a product, but crappy enough that IE has the advantage.

Now many think that Netscape has let us down, but in the end, it really doesn't matter. This is a free market economy, that is meant to benefit the customers ... US.

Microsoft did have a monopoly, but thanks to Netscape/AOL and Linux, they are finally forcing Microsoft to make quality product.

I really don't care where my money goes, as long as I am buying the best product, not FORCING to buy a product that I have to upgrade year after year. And as long as Microsoft keeps doing that, I will never buy it. Just maybe XP will be the first OS worth to buy.

But, I like IE, to keep with the topic. I don't have to redownload it every week or worry about it crashing on me every ten minutes. But then again, the way sites are made, you are forced to use IE.

I like the CrystalPort browser. Just like NeoPlanet, it actually uses Interent Explorer. What I like about it is that it allows you to have multiple webpages open without having to load your browser again for each of them, so it's supposed to use up less of your computers resources. I have six of them open right now. Instead of having IE opened six times, it allows me to switch between the six pages within the one open browser. It also has a search function built in that allows you to pick which engine you want to use (I have mind set to use Google).

I use Netsuck at work and IE at home. The main differences I've noticed is IE is more integrated and Netsuck does seem to crash more but there are things that a Netsuck webpage can do that an IE viewed webpage cant... for example, blinking text... in Netsuck it will do it, in IE it won't. I also prefer the look and feel of IE... especially since it's the browser I've been using for years... I do believe though that Netsuck's mail program (Messenger) is a bit more secure than IE's.... so to me, it all boils down to what I'm comfortable with and I'm much more comfortable with IE than Netsuck...

Also, when Netsuck first came out, it wasn't free...you had to pay for it, IE has always been free... subtle differences.

I also prefer IE's favorites, to Netsuck's bookmarks....

Many differences, but they all do the same thing, allow you to view webpages...

as far as other web browsers... never used them..

good luck on whichever you decide to use...

I also prefer IE because it doesn't have any problem running the Yahoo toolbar, where in Netsuck it always crashes when I tried to use it....

I for some reason, really enjoy using Yahoo as a portal and have fully embraced their 'My Yahoo' features and communities (and their fantasy sports!!)
