What the Nets now have is a bunch of solid and young players along with the Suns picks that they can flip for a disgruntled star. In a league where basically every team has an all star caliber player or two they will likely be in the lottery. Look at 8,9,10 in the East right now. Atlanta, Chicago and Toronto. You really think what the Nets have is better than Young/Murray/Capela Derozan/Lavine/Ball/Vucevic FVV/Siakim/OG/Barnes Nope.
It's more like the Brooklyn Roleplayers. But the east could be weaker next year, and not really surprised if they can sneak in to the play-in. Atleast the Brooklyn pick next year is not a swap one. So it will certainly be better than if KD kyrie are still there. Worst case is they manage to use all the picks to get talented players in the offseason
KD, CP3, and Booker?!?! They’re gonna light it up from midrange lol. Seriously, is there a better midrange shooting trio in history?
The Nets will be having a fire sales this summer. They will go into rebuild mode with other teams picks
Remember after we traded Harden, the Rockets went on a mini win streak and it felt like Wall, Woods, Oladipo, Tucker, Tate, and Cousins might be a play-in team. I’m hoping this is how the Nets turn out. Solid players, but no superstars. An injury and some adversity away from cratering.
Guys.,..it’s happening. Yes they have a few solid players; cam Johnson and cam Thomas are great young prospects. Claxton is solid. But they are a lotto team. Break out the cigars or the herbs or the booze or whatever your thing is. The implosion is happening
To me, the best case scenario for this team is that Rockets team led by Scola and Lowry that was just getting the 14th pick every year. I would not be mad at a late lotto pick every year. When we acquired those picks everybody was saying they'd be the 28-30th pick every year. Now they're looking like late lotto picks at worst. If you're not rejoicing about that I don't know what you're doing.
Nets can't win and Nets can't lose or they b forced to give us picks. I think the least painful way to survive the next few years is have a fire sale and join the tank. The picks from this fire sale potentially will offset somewhat the picks owed to us. They don't really want to waste assets to trade and build around Simmons.
Competitive is pretty subjective lol if not for the emergence of Cam Thomas and Claxton this year that team is lucky to win 20 games, just a whole crew of mids.
Could be sneaky competitive or pretty bad. If you are banking on Cam Thomas keeping them afloat, we have a (probably) better version of Cam Thomas and are the worst team in the league.
No, that lineup is not “competitive.” However, they now have a ton of valuable assets. I could see them trying to make big moves this off-season given their 2024 pick goes to us.
They are not competitive at all we can go to Brooklyn and open a can of WhupAss on them. Previously, I wanted Simmons at first but now I do not know if they can get a 2nd round.
Wizards have an all star in Beal at least. It’s really kind of interesting every team even bad teams like Charlotte and Indiana have all star types like LaMelo and Halliburton. The worst teams like Houston, Detroit and Orlando are bad because they are so young. But Green, Cade and Banchero are still way better than what’s remaining on that Nets team. They should be able to beat the bottom tier young teams like us but that roster is like lottery pick 5-10.
Already started. Brooklyn adds 3 more 2nd round picks (from the Bucks) for Jae Crowder. Still 2 hours to the deadline, and probably more flipping to come: shooters Seth Curry and Patty Mills + Royce O'Neale are probably on the liquidation block now. (They likely won't find takers for Joe Harris or Simmons...without giving away the farm with them).
