http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nba&id=2002740 Tuesday, March 1, 2005 SportsTicker EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey - The New Jersey Nets waived veteran center Elden Campbell on Tuesday. Campbell appeared in 10 games with the Nets, his third team this season, after signing with the club January 28. He scored just two points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a total of 50 minutes for New Jersey. A member of the Detroit Pistons during their title run last season and for the first 21 games in 2004-05, Campbell was traded from the champions to the Utah Jazz on January 21. He did not make an appearance for the Jazz, however, and was waived five days later. A 15-year veteran out of Clemson, Campbell has career averages of 10.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 1,035 career games. He was drafted 27th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1990 and averaged a career-best 14.9 points for them during the 1996-97 season.
So I guess now Campbell goes to the Pistons, eh? Nets, nice use of your 5M TE! What a waste! If CD did something like that people on the board would have his head on a platter.
Campbell had to give back some of his salary to get the Nets to release him too. Thorn wasted his trade exception because he was ticked Detroit made a good move. Just like last year when he called Atlanta and told them not to trade Sheed to Detroit, and then tried to get that trade overturned. He hates Detroit (stemming from way back--think Bad Boys) and he's been acting very childishly because of it.
I can't stand that wienie Thorn. I'm glad "Soup" is coming back to Motown to get ready to do battle with Shaq come playoff time.
