If Denver tries to stick Harrington into the deal last minute...the Russian mafia may have to be deployed.
What I read yesterday was that their 1st rounder for this season, Lakers 1st rounder that came in SV trade, Warriors' 1st rounder from another deal and probably the Rockets' 1st rounder from the T-Will deal.
Favors, a high lottery pick (Nets), Warriors pick, and two low first rounders? Why is the Warriors pick in there? It seems like they are bidding too much.
What I posted in the other thread: I hope this happens, James Dolan goes ballistic, lets Donnie Walsh go, rehires Zeke and the Knicks crash and burn for several more years. But I have a feeling the Nets trade will not happen.
Supposedly a third team would be involved to take on Murphy, including one of the 1st rounders as a sweetener. One can speculate that Sacramento or Cleveland (trade exception) would gladly step in on that action.
The Rockets need to get in this deal for Murphy and a 1st. The Rockets are willing to take on salary. Murphy and Nene and a 1st for Yao,Jefferies, and Hill
This sounds like a 3rd team will get involved. Nets do not need to do all that. We could help them with some 1st rounders--spread the burden and pillageness.
Yeah, that's an interesting part of the story, if I understood it correctly. Why would you include a draft pick or two to unload Murphy when he's expiring this season? Maybe the Nugs are really needing to save money.
IF this trade goes down, and Melo ends up signing the extension with the Nets, James Dolan will probably bust a gasket. 4 first rounders though?!? Are the Nets just outbidding themselves at this point??
At this point, I'm not going to believe anything until it happens...but the Nuggets would be getting a lot of value in that trade - especially because they would likely have to hold a fire sale to get someone to take Billups off their hands after Melo leaves. As for the Nets, this becomes Billups+Melo+an underachieving big man + a lot of scrubs. Sure that's better than what they have now but I can't see how Billups and Melo can get excited for this.
Billups has said publicly he wants to stay in Denver and hates being mentioned in Melo trade talks. Melo even feels bad for him this is happening. Melo wants his money more than anything else. If it takes an Extend & Trade with the Nets to get it done, fine with him (I think). Winning with his new team isn't the #1 priority: Getting the 3yrs/$65MM is.
Finally, Now lets get the ball rolling. Melo has to move before everyone else can start making moves.
