sorry if there's already a thread on this. Not Netflix's best show ever but if you're a fan of history a really really solid quick 8 episode binge watch. It's actually not originally produced by Netflix... they just got the rights. It came out in Italy a couple years back I think. And it's not 100% true to history. It's in the Marco Polo type mold. It can be a bit slow and drag, in notnsure about Dustin Hoffman casting. But still entertaining and interesting. Also I understand they will make a second season but it will leap ahead to focused on Lorenzo the Magnificent (who is Cosimo De Medici's - the main character in this show - grandson. His son's period of power - which isn't a long or interesting one historically - is skipped over). I like this call to skip a generation and makes me look forward to season 2 more.
Hoffman seemed a bit like a square peg in a round hole but the King in The North did an admirable job as Cosimo and I enjoyed the series. I am hoping there will be a second season.
