new restaurant just opened up over on montrose. same concept as fogo but about $10 cheaper. has anyone been here yet? most important does it compare with fogo?
Someone has apparently checked it out, and they liked it alot..... http://www.b4-u-eat.com/houston/restaurants/reviews/rsv4056.asp
i saw a billboard for it on westheimer towards montrose. i saw colorful flags on the lightpoles. pride parade coming up? They have a lot of hunnies there. I think they play on the same team though. Its fun to look though.
don't read that ****. I once went to a restaurant where people said it was good, and it turned out to be disgusting.
I love Brazilian steakhouses. There is one in Memphis we always go to called Texas de Brazil. I love it but it is expensive, I usually never spend less than $100 just for me and my girl.
Hey guys I just got back from this place and it is freakin awesome. I took my girlfriend with me and we got there late around 8:45 and the place closes at 9:30 on Sundays. Naturally I was thinking, great now the service is going to suck because they are going to rush us out. Man was I wrong. The service: The service was bar none top of the line all the way around. Very friendly respectful staff incredibly attentive. I must have recieved 4 new clean plates throughout my meal and my water glass never had an opportunity to even reach halfway empty. The owner was very friendly and involved (I guess because it is new) but he went to every table and asked for comments, feedback, and to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Everytime I looked up they were bringing me another serving of filet mingon, bacon wrapped chicken breasts, leg of lamb, and countless other meaty delights. The food The food was excellent. I definitely recomend the house special, they call it picana (pronounced picanya). The pork ribs were delicious as were all the meats (they serve 11 in total). The salad bar was mixed with cold veggies, salads, meats (including smoked salmon) cheeses and hot entrees such as rice, beans, pastas, and fried plantains. The fettucini pasta dish they had was incredible and I almost forgot about the meats after tasting it. They make their own cheesy rolls, again incredible, and you have to stay for the papaya cream desert. The price After getting all of this incredible service and delicious food I was expecting the worst. Once again I was pleasantly suprised. For both dinners including unlimited meat and salad bar it was $59.00. This is really good when for a Brazilian Rodizio. The place is pretty romantic too if thats what your looking for. This is actually the first review I have ever written and as you can tell I felt so strongly about it I had to share it. Anyway hope it was helpful.
I'm not sure how to respond to your post. b4-u-eat is a website where ordinary Houstonians can post opinions on different restaurants. If you're not going to believe other people's opinions on something as subjective as food, what can you believe. It's certainly possible that you caught the restaurant on a bad day.......or it could be that most people really like the place....and you're the weird one. Either way, it's kind of silly to just wholesale dismiss the opinions of others because of your one bad experience.
I just got back from the restaurant. This place absolutely rocks!!! In many aspects, this place is better than Fogo. While Fogo is a nice restaurant, the size of the place makes it feel very impersonal. Nelore is a much smaller place with beautiful furniture and lots of windows. I think it has much more of an intimate feel, whereas Fogo feels like a chain restaurant (which it is). I went into the restaurant with an appetite, and I am proud to say that I tried EVERYTHING that they dished out. Every single meat was delicious, and each meat had it's own unique features. While the quality is just as good, they couldn't quite match the sheer quantity of variety at Fogo's. Regardless, their meat was very good. What I said about the meats is true for the salad. While the quality of the salad is very good at Nelore, they couldn't match the variety of items at Fogo. IMO, Fogo has the BEST salad bar that I have ever seen. The waiters and servers were fantastic at Nelore. The meat comes around so quickly that I never had to wait for something new to try. Also, the waiters and manager were incredibly friendly and attentive. I have to admit that I visited the restaurant on a Monday night (generally a slow restaurant night), so I don't know if this will hold true on a Friday or Saturday night. Regardless, I was very impressed with the service. The price for the meal is $10 cheaper than Fogo, but much like Fogo, things add up very quickly if you add wine, coffee and dessert into the meal. I spent over $70 for myself and 1/5 of someone else's meal (we treated a friend as a group). If you are out on a date, be prepared to break the $100 barrier. I was very impressed with the meal and would love to go there again. I will recommend anyone to give this place a try. The atmosphere and service is top notch. The food is great (but not quite Fogo great) and it's a little cheaper than Fogo. Go and check this place out!!!
I know what you're saying, but I do see prada's point. I have been to a few restaurants that had very glowing reviews on b4-u-eat and then turned out to be not very good at all. I think many of the reviews on there are written by people that actually work for the restaurant. Still, I continue to use it as a resource when looking for new places.
Man, sounds like I'll need to check this place out next time I'm in town. My favorite place up here is Texas de Brazil, never been a huge fan of Fogo
While in Brazil, we went to several churrascarrias. $8 each for a meal including 2 caipirihnas. Im gonna take the wifey soon to this one.
