Most important game of year and Nelly benches him...WOW !

"I gave Baron a much-needed rest the second half," was all Nelson would say afterward.

Davis, the Warriors' leading scorer at 22 points a game, left without talking to reporters.

How can you do that to your best player? One of them will probably have to go because of this......

Baron...you want to come play in Houston?

Too bad we don't have enough players with high enough contracts to match Davis'.

I was gonna sarcastically ask if Baron is the kind of passing guard you want but after reviewing his stats he averages over 7 assists per game while scoring more than 20 per game. Bring him on! ;)

We may not even need to trade anyone, according to this, Baron can opt out and be a free agent this year if he wants.

Baron has player option for next year

I wonder if he would simply walk away?

Or maybe the team is trying to get him to opt out?

At this point I'd do it.

Tracy seems to be on his last legs.

Ask me after the season, but I am seriously leaning that way.

This is hilarious. One guy has Rafer freaking Alston and a pair of 2nd round draft picks as his supporting cast while leading a team to 54 wins and everyone here is tripping over themselves to trade him for a guy who has Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, Al Harrington etc. as his supporting cast and can't get in the playoffs. Go figure, this must be clutchfans.net.

So might the Warriors, and this is the type of player that everyone seems to think we could never get back for Tracy. A perfect storm, if you ask me. At first glance their numbers aren't way different, but Baron plays defense, doesn't fade at the end of games, and he's a better free throw shooter. Those just happen to be my 3 biggest knocks on Tracy.

Rick's offense works best when you have people who can make the pass. T-mac is one of the best passing "swingman" ever to play the game, So I'd hate to lose that. But this offense is way too limited by Yao not being quick enough to effectively run the Pick and Roll, and Tracy not being able to finish worth squat anymore.

Baron Davis gets to the rack almost at will, posts up most any other PG easily, not to mention has the passing skills to go along with it. No more games where your superstar just turns it on and off again whether he wants to pass or wants to continually take 18 footers.

Whats funny is I can't even picture Baron without the Leonidas beard anymore.

Because getting into the playoffs this year is so easy, right? A caveman could do it!

Seriously, a 48 (possibly 49) win team is still very good, and in most years (like last) would have been good for the 5th or 6th seed. Speaking of last year...

I'd say what Tmac and Yao were able to do with last year's craptacular supporting cast trumps what they've done this year with some better pieces. I'm not saying Tmac is a worthless piece of garbage and he needs to be shipped for anything we can get, I'm saying that Baron Davis is a guy who is good enough to where at this point you'd have to seriously consider trading Tracy for him. Baron does enough on a nightly basis for his squad, but the Warriors learned the hard way this year you can't make the playoffs depending on offensive outbursts on a nightly basis.

Cabbage, if the Rockets lose in the first round again (highly likely) and Golden State offers Baron Davis for Tmac, are you saying you would not even consider that deal?

Man, I may not make the deal but I would certainly consider it.

Some people wouldn't consider Tracy McGrady for Jesus Christ and a 1st round pick.

Umm, this same flawed logic could be applied to Tracy's criticisms...because winning playoff series' is so easy, right?
