By Apple. Seriously, it just hit me recently but I think Steve Jobs got some serious penis envy to B.G. Every single ad they put out is negative, always attacking while PC keeps it positive and wholesome. They want to make Apple the fun OS, but what's the last major non-Blizzard computer game made for it? I can't remember. Also, they don't allow the users enough control, or third parties to make anythng for them, driving up the cost of stuff for the Macs. I'm a PC... F--- Mac. That is all.
See the thing I love about the new Vista/Windows campaign is that it doesn't boast or lie to you, and it doesn't attack Apple. With windows you get what you see, infinite possibilities. It bothers me when people actually buy into the negative adds, and there are times when the mac ads just make me wanna pull out my hair because the things they say aren't even true. This new Windows campaign doesn't do that. That's classy IMO. Just a side note, I find it funny that Mac kinda campaigns itself as the people's computer in that it's built more toward the user and less to the programmer/techie. The irony is, if you were to ask who's more down to earth, Jobs or Gates, everyone says Gates. Take it for what it's worth.
Dear God I HATE those commercials. I won't touch anything Apple almost solely for that crap. And that kid, I hate that prick. The whole Apple lifestyle, drives me insane.
I don't like the ads either, but they didn't affect my choice on what laptop I bought. Either way I split my time equally between my PC desktop and macbook. I love both of them.
this is the begining of the computers taking over...... bid the users against each other. well, they ain't gettin to me.........(or Mr. Wiggles)
I have a Mac, but I also have Vista on it, so yay. Say what you want about the ads, but it's great marketing. It's Microsoft's fault for not doing their new ads sooner and countering...like when the Apple ads came out in the first place. I guess if you're of the mindset where if you're number one you shouldn't acknowledge the competitor, then they did it right, but I guess they have to now since Macs have been selling more and more now.
It's called running a business. Do what you can to sell computers, that's how apple thinks. They don't care if someone thinks their ads are "negative." Its kind of like saying since one of the presidential candidates is putting out negative ads then you shouldn't vote for that candidate. You vote for, or in this case, buy the better product because of the actual product, not because of the "negative" ads. In any case, the PC commercials are about 30 times more annoying than any apple commercial.
i hate apple. i wish their computer would just go away. they are better off making iPod and related products.
That's exactly the kind of ads I want to see Microsoft run. Here's another, some little piece of your Mac hardware broke and you don't have a warranty, guess what, lube up your pie hole cause they're definitely gonna stick it to ya.
I have a macbook and a Dell XPS. They're both great machines. I do prefer OSX to Vista/XP but it's not a huge difference. They're both good for different things. I also am not a huge PC gamer so the whole "you can't play games" argument doesn't really bother me. Bottom line, if you're choosing anything based on advertisements you are an idiot.
Those ads are annoying, but so are those "I'm a PC." You have to give it to Apple though, it's a pretty creative method of advertising. Annoying, but creative. Either way, they don't sway me whatsoever. Can't wait for Windows 7!
I would only hit 2 of those girls and thats only after a six pack of shiner and a couple shots of tequila.
I still don't understand the whole "Vista sucks" issue...I've had a Vista laptop for months now and I love it, no problems. These apple adds come off as nerds who care too much about their computers...the "I'm a PC" commercial is better imo.
Funny because those commercials have alienated a lot of people from trying out Macs. Here's the way I see it. If you have a product, a great product, it should sell itself. You just have to get people to try it. Like the iPhone commercials. They show you WHY the iPhone is cool and HOW you can apply it to your life. The PC/Mac commercials don't do that. They're just annoying, and the sole reason why I will not purchase another Apple product.
