    Hello CF Nation,

I have a wedding to attend this weekend and need to get my tux dry cleaned. I don't want to go any old dry cleaner on the street corner like I would for my normal clothes, though.

Any recommendations for a place that does a good, quality job on expensive formal wear? I'd prefer the West Houston/Katy area if possible.

    TIA.

i don't know any places in houston. but in NYC you could always pay extra (maybe 3x the normal rate) to have something dry cleaned solo. this would reduce the chance of any damage from other clothes hitting your fabric/buttons. also insist they iron/steam by hand -- no machine press.

    The answer IS-

Eagle Express off of Westheimer in the Montrose area. Nassar is pretty much one of the best around. I've tried many and don't mind the 10 minute drive and a little extra charge to have perfection done to my dry cleaning.

I've never had a problem with Men's Warehouse Dry cleaners and they will charge you like they are the best. I remember paying like 15 dollars for my cashmere sweater.

What about dry cleaning a tie? Does it matter where I go or is it pretty much all the same? How much should the average cost be?

Is there any way to wash/dry clean a tie? Or do people not wash ties?

if it's silk it's likely gonna look dull after dry cleaning, but if it's badly stained then you might as well try it anyways........one other problem with this is the canvas inside can shrink up bunch up or get just plain messed up

otherwise, just steam it and then gently wipe w/ some soft fabric like terrycloth
