Please help us find a home for our wonderful family dog. BoBo (a female) was picked out by my daughter from a local shelter 3 years ago. The vet says she is about 5 years old now. She is a very sweet docile dog when around people who wants nothing more than to be petted and loved on. She is very smart and has taught herself how to respond to what we want. For example, she loves attention and seeks it, but will walk away immediately when asked. She will also go straight to the utility room where she sleeps when we say good night. Bobo is very active when outside and loves to be walked or to run free. She must be either fenced with plenty of room to exercise or live on acreage. She would be ideal for someone who wants a companion for walking or exercise. She has been spayed, is housetrained, and all her shots are current. We love Bobo, but a recent incident has caused us to seek a new home for her. She escaped from our back yard when a service man left the gate open (she does not jump fences). She ran across the street to a neighbor’s house and bit a miniature Schnauzer and carried the dog back to our house. Unfortunately, the small dog did not survive. Our neighbor witnessed the incident. Bobo did not shake the dog, but bit down on the dog and carried it away. We have consulted several people and they believe that Bobo may have seen the animal as livestock or another animal and wanted to herd it. It is their opinion that she was not trying to harm the dog, but really needs to have her energy channeled by being given a job such as herding or agility training, etc. As my wife and I both work, we do not have the time to give Bobo the exercise and mental stimulation she clearly needs. Bobo has lived with our other dog and we have had numerous dogs as house guests and Bobo has been friends with all of them. Our neighbor has other small dogs and is insistent that the dog be removed from the neighborhood, and, we believe we should comply with her wishes given the trauma suffered by her family and children. We are going to shelter Bobo in a kennel as we try to find a home for her, but clearly this a temporary solution.
is bobo a tiger that looks like a tiger? Seriously though, with a name like Bobo, and with the info of it killing your neighbors dog, Im gonna bet $5 its a Pit....am I right?
No. But I dont see why you would assume pits automatically do that. When i went to the dog park this weekend, a german shepherd grabbed a small dog and absolutely went nuts on it.
