River Oaks GoodYear on Westheimer Rd. near Weslayan. Good service, good quality, no hassle. Ask for Rusk.

EDIT: as with any other place where customer service should be a plus, if you know the main guy's name before you get there, it gets you a better price. If you even say "Someone recommended that I would come here for good service, [name of the owner/manager of the place here]", you get even better treatment.

    What about Discount Tire?

I am in need of new tires for my 2006 Acura as well!

tirerack.com seconded. And for a sedan, I strongly recommend Goodyear's TripleTred for an all-around tire (all-weather, traction, rain, comfort, noise, etc..). Of course, if your car fits them. But I think a lot of sedans do

I find that sam's club is generally the cheapest if they have your size. Other than that, I think discount tire is fairly reasonable but they try to sucker you into buying the road hazard.

    BINGO!

DT will fix flats for free (plugging the holes).

And the coverage is great. There was a recall for my valves, and they replaced them with some sweet chrome tipped (caps) valves for free. :)

Ebay. Buy some used one's with like 80% + tread left from somebody with a high seller rating and specializes in selling tires. Save yourself over half the money that you would spend on brand new ones. After they arrive you will more than likely be pleased.

And then you take them to Discount tire for the mount and balance and have them put on. I think it's less than $20.00

With all the money you saved then you can really go to a gentlemens club for food.

I got some new tires for my Honda Accord recently. I will bow for Yokohama tires. Those were the old set I had and they were great. I like these new tires I have as well. I also got a great deal. 4 new tires, $40 dollars off instantly, and a basketball jersey (unfortunately it is a Spurs jersey; got it by mail). I'm sure in Houston they would probably give you a coupon for the Rockets jersey if they still have the promotion going.

I love my tires. Smooth turns and just great for duration plus 60K mile warranty. :)

Go read the reviews on tirerack.com.
Go to a car forum that deals with your car - often there's a tire/wheels section. See what people are buying.

driving aroudn in the Houston area....its not a suckers deal to get the road hazard.

Ive had multiple tires replaced for the cost of the road hazard over the years...when you inevitably ruin a tire on these god-awful roads, they replace them for next to free....all you have to do is buy the road hazard on the new tire.

really....Ive used discount since I got my first car in 1982, and never had a reason to complain.

I agree. Discount Tire is great. The reason why I used tirerack.com last time because I got a high end tire and DT didn't have it.

If you guys like Discount Tire, check out DiscountTireDirect.com as well... sometimes they have some good sales and can be cheaper than the B&M stores :
