I need a good MS Office type software but I don't have the money to spend on new versions, nor do I want a copied version.

    Any recommendations?

Any guidance in this is GREATLY appreciated.

    :)

PS-my email for this board is out of date so please post to the thread. Thanks.

What do you need/want to do? Do you have AppleWorks? It should have come with your computer.

    Get more specific, man.

    Have you tried OpenOffice.org?
I think they may have a Mac version too...

Ditto on the OpenOffice vote. It's all I use.

For just word-processing, AbiWord is pretty good as well.

Maybe not. If he bought an iMac, yes. If he has a G4, No.

    Thanks!

    I do have a G4 and I don't have Appleworks.

I also have OSX but I don't use it. Not that I don't want too, it's just been kinda low on the priority list, what with all of the time I spend lurking on the Rockets section of this BBS.

I'll be needing word, slideshow, and spreadsheet tools. In other words, MS Office, but cheaper.

    Thanks again.

So you want an Office Suite, for free or next to nothing, but you want something that runs in OS 9, which noone is developing for anymore... Uh, as Seinfeld would say...

    GOOD LUCK WITH ALL THAT!

Dude you have a G4, upgrade to OS X for the love of Pete and join the rest of the Mac-World. Even Steve Jobs said Mac OS 9 is dead!

I didn't say that it needed to run on OS9. I said I have OSX I just haven't started using it.

Thanks for all of your good information. Your insight has been very helpful, I will treasure your wise words always.

    Again, thank you.
