Well I DJ for parties, and put out CD's sometimes but, I only do hip-hop/rap stuff. People want me to do some techno but the problem is, I'm not that knowledged in who's HOT in techno and where to find out whats the hottest songs running in techno/euro/hardhouse/trance and everything along those lines. Anybody wanna help me out?

I wouldn't know about songs, but I have several techno/electronica albums.

Any album by these artists will be a good beginning:

    Chemical Brothers
    Moby
    Prodigy
    Fatboy Slim
    Underworld
    Orbital
    The Orb

Then look at trance CDs and explore Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold (especially "Tranceport") and Robert Miles (mainly the album "Dreamland").

Somewhat techno but also world music includes Enigma, Delerium (starting with the album "Semantic Spaces") and Deep Forest.

A great but dark album that has had some tracks featured in movies and tv commercials is "Mezzanine" by Massive Attack.

Finally, look at VNV Nation, a great band that is more industrial-goth than techno but has more electronics in it than other industrial artists.

I dont know what is currently hot, but this is off a sweet techno mix someone once made me:

Ready, Set, Go - Paul Oakenfold
    Sandstorm - Darude
    Til I Come - ATB
    Cream- Blank and Jones
One More Time - Daft Punk
Castles In The Sky - Ian Van Duhl
Starry Eyed Surprise - Oakenfold (again)
Spin Spin Sugar - Orbital and Sneaker Pimps

The soundtrack of Matrix and Matrix Reloaded have some of the best techno songs I have ever heard. Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, etc. etc.

Rob Dougan is a great artist.
    Sasha & Digweed
Paul Oakenfold. His latest album is a better improvement over the previous one which wasn't all that good.
    Juno Reactor is alright.

DJ Tiesto kinda sucks, but is popular.

Trance/Techno band that might fall into that category but is questionable would be Massive Attack.

They experiment with a lot of electronica and ambient sounds, but I wouldn't classify it as Techno. Nonetheless their music has been my favorite to listen to for about the past month.

Sasha is more of a mellow Trance artist I think, but his albums are my favorite personally.

Airdrawndagger has two famous songs to the best of my knowledge that are popular in the UK, and his other album I think called Xpander is very popular too.

My favorite songs from him are...

    Xpander Album- Baja
    Xpander Album- Xpander (self titled)
    Airdrawndagger- Fundamental
    Airdrawndagger- Wavy Gravy

Oakenfold's best album probably has been Tranceport, but one mix he has that's really good that use's the Requiem For A Dream song is Zoo York, which is good. A really good one from him is Hallucinogen, which starts off kinda slow for a minute but really picks up quick.

Rob Dougan's songs are famous from the Matrix and Matrix: Reloaded sound track. Every song I've listened to by him has been great to listen to.

Juno Reactor is a band I haven't really listened to but a song I recommend to listen to from them is Guardian Angel.

    Anyhow those are my recommendations.

I don't like 99% of the techno that's out there, but...

damn, Crystal Method is good. I mean really good! Get their album 'Vegas' and listen to 'trip like i do' and 'keep hope alive'.

they're used on soundtracks a lot, too. great stuff.

Man, I completely forgot about them! "Vegas" IS the techno album. It is like every track on that album has been used in a movie or on TV.

Oh another great techno band/artist is Utah Saints. Their first album, which was self-titled, is another great one.
