my mom lives in the deep woods of North Carolina and my brother recently bought her a new cell phone because they switched from Tmobile to AT&T. Now I know signal in her area is weak, but she lives in a house with my sister, her boyfriend, and my sisters 2 daughters who all have cell phones and all their phones have much better reception. Her reception is so bad, 99% of her phone calls gets dropped after 30 seconds of talking. No joke. So my question is, those who have AT&T service, whats a good phone for great signal/voice quality? I know my brother probably bought her the cheapest phone he could, but this phone she has she just can't use at all. I feel bad for her because I usually talk to her atleast once a day for a good 10-15 minutes but I haven't really talked to her in over a week because of her damn phone.
Def. not the iPhone. I lived in a part of San Antonio where I had bad reception until I drove about a block away from where I lived. The iPhone wouldn't be the best phone to go with, it's known to have issues with call quality and reception. I think you might want to go with one of those cheap flip phones, I've used a pay-as-you-go phone as an AT&T phone in a pretty crappy reception area and it was able to hold up for a while. Best bet is to switch carriers in the longterm though if you're thinking about staying in that location.
