Google it. If I had to guess, I might say Eric Clapton's "Change the World." But, you should try googling it, that's a really vague phrase.

Since it's a hits radio station, a mellow song and sung by a guy, I did some searching for the term "world" in lyrics ... any chance it is "Incomplete" by Backstreet Boys? Only the lyrics say: "I don’t wanna make you face this world alone" Of course you'd have to be really bad at lyrics to omit the "make you", but worth a shot.
