1. my sis has a bug problem. she said it happens the last two springs. she say it happen last spring and this spring. all these bugs come out in her bathroom window and spread over the house. i took pics before the cleanup. here they are. i sorry the blurry but they are taken with phone photo. 2. i need help my lawn more. some body gives me a lawn more with a catch to start it. i have to cover the hole in pic with thumb while somebod starts it. what part of lawn more is this and where can i get a new piece. the lawn more is a briggs n statton garden pride 22.
i forget to say the piece on the bottom. the little square on the bigger one is the piece that was conects to in front of the hole and it breaks off. so what are the bugs and part i need is all i dont know.
the square part you removed to get to the hole is the air filter leaving it off allows dirt and crap to get into the engine. covering it to get it to start means it is running too lean (not high enough gas to air ratio), which is probably a function of a dirty and possibly bad gas passages(whatever lawnmowers use in place of a carb). the bugs I cant say, Im not a entomologist.
Termites One day I was sleeping in a little house that I was renting and I felt all of these bugs crawling on me in my dreams, but I woke up and found out that they were real. It freaked me out to have all of these bugs all over the room that I was in, but no windows or doors were open. There was a little hole in the wall that they came out of.
Im not even sure if lawnmowers use carburetors....they use something to control the gas fed into the engine, but none of the pictures are it. THe square part with the hole in it is just the back of the air filter housing, the replaceable part laying below it is the air filter in the front part of the housing. The hole in the back plate is where the air goes into the engine to mix with the gasoline to power the engine. I cant really tell what the insects are, the pics are too fuzzy for my old eyes. At first I though the white was the wings on those ants you see sometimes, but Im not sure. If it was ants with wings, he would have said so. Yes, lawnmowers use carburetors. you could try taking the carburetor off and using carb cleaner and replacing the spark plug but not even sure if would work considering that lawnmower looks like crap. get a new one.
now the part you were talking about covering with your thumb is called a Choke. metal plate. after the engine is warm some you dont need it but you need the air filter on. wish i put this in my post^^^
thanks, appreciate the education, which makes perfect sense now that I know that it is technically a carb. My training is in autos, I pay other people to work on my lawn equipment, or I buy a new one if the equipment in question is real old. to the original poster, you are the one that saw the critters in person, do either of the pics above look close? There are a bunch of other kinds, but those are the most common in our area.
