Im planning on going to the University of texas at Arlington so I needed some advice on any safe apartments in the area. I dont really care about the rent but I really need somewhere safe and quiet where I dont have to worry too much about my car being broken into. I heard the area around the University is not that great so Im willing to live away from that area.

I would greatly appreciate any help. Im panicking a bit since its so close and I still havent found a place. (Im moving there in January)

all of arlington is pretty ghetto imo

you should live in the apartments right next to campus, at least students live there instead of thugs

The 'nice' apartments in arlington aren't much better than those.

Are there any decent apartments around Burleson and that area? I hear that area is a bit better...Like I said Im willing to move farther away....I have family in Dallas and Plano and those areas were pretty nice...But thats obviously too far...Arlington just seems horrible....

Anybody currently going to the University of Texas Arlington? Or anybody living in the Fort Worth areas??

i live in dallas and work a few blocks from uta

my commute is about 25 minutes, from downtown dallas to uta, traffic always goes the other way, traffic between ft worth and uta is worse i think

really depends on how old you are and what you like to do

burleson is not very 'hip', you can find some equivalent apartments in arlington, no point in moving to burleson imo

downtown dallas and ft worth are 30ish minutes away and are cool if you like to party, so that could be an option, but you would be living far away from the friends you are going to make at uta

I used to live in Arlington off of Cooper close to I-20, and I never had any trouble. But it was a giant pain living so close to the Parks at Arlington mall (the complex was called "Fielder's Glen" at the time, but I don't know if it's still called that), especially around Christmas time. It was also in 2000 when I moved away, so no telling how much it's changed since then. I lived there for three years, though, without incident.

Of course, when I went to school at UTA, I lived in Plano. I enjoyed the commute (it was about 45-minutes-to-an-hour taking the Tollway to I-30 and across to Arlington).

I also lived in far south Fort Worth at one point, in the Hulen area. It was relatively nice at the time, but that's been even longer ago that I lived there (I left in 1993), and it seemed very distant and detached from the rest of the Metroplex to me.

How close is Ag Town to Dallas? Never been, but thought everything was within 20 miles.
