Call a store and ask when the shipment are coming in (usually Sundays) or try a smaller game store like Game Crazy. That's how I found them, when I needed them or got them for someone.

Wii (with power brick/AV cable/sensor bar)

Wii Component Cables (high def cables)
    2 Wii Remote + 2 Nunchuck
    Classic Controller

    Wii Sports
    Wii Play
    Super Mario Galaxy
    Mario Strikers Charged
    Super Paper Mario
    Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
    Trauma Center: Second Opinion
    Super Monkey Ball Wii

I also have 2 extra nunchucks if anyone wants to buy them, bought them with the intention of buying more wiimotes, and I never did. The 2 nunchucks are both in their packaging.

Are they still hard to find? Somebody told me a few weeks ago Wii's aren't scarce anymore.

I like my Wii but man do the games suck. Outside of Wii Sports, there is nothing. I'm really disappointed to have paid $250 for one game.

Get Super Mario Galaxy. Absolutely one of the best games I've played in years.

I don't play my Wii all that much now that I finished Galaxy, and I'm playing GTA4. I like having it for when I have people over to my apartment -- it's a great party system.

I'm surprised they're so hard to find. I don't know why stores still don't have them? It's been so long since Wii came out, shouldn't they just stock up with them by now???

They're everywhere here in Asia. It's impossible to not find a Wii at a game store here. Is it just some marketing scheme that they're holding back on the Wii's at the stores in the States?

not as scarce but still scarce. instead of a shipment of wiis going in an hour, they usually last the whole day. so i would, and have been told, to call every morning about a shipment which comes once a week at gamestop/eb games.

That's ridiculous.. how few of those get shipped? Is the Wii just super famous and everyone has to have one, or do only ship < 10 per week? IIRC I went to a Gamestop last year and the guy told me they only ship like 10 per week.

They've been selling about 700K systems in each of the last few months IIRC (almost double of what the other two systems sell combined), so I'm not sure it has too much to do with low shipments. I'm pretty sure it sells just as well, if not better, in other parts of the world too, so you have to keep that in mind too.

The reason that there are not so many in the channel at once is Nintendo is a cash company, they don't finance manufacturing on credit.

I think that Wii Fit thing kind of rekindled some interest, too.

My wife got hers (and her Wii Fit) off of Craigslist. We ended up paying $11 over what we would've paid in the store, but we got it when we wanted it and didn't have to work to hunt one down.

    Where do you live?

I live in Katy and went in to a Play N Trade Wednesday and they said they had a lot of Wii's in the back just sitting there. My brother went back Thursday and bought it.

The only catch was that you have to get the bundle, extra Wii controller, 2 games and Wii Play. Total came out to be ~$440

Those numbers are amazing. Sony is very lucky it has the PS2 cash cow to bail out the slow-moving PS3.

Come to Galveston. It's crazy how easy it is to find 'in demand' items here. I got my Wii the first month it launched with minimal looking. I fully expect to be able to get a new iPhone when they launch just as easily.

haha. I just got one yesterday off your tip. Thx. I called the Play N Trade by Willowbrook on Sunday afternoon and they had one left in stock. So I jumped in the car and ran over. However, I didn't have to buy a "bundle" as I didn't get any games. I did get an extra controller/numchuck plus an HDTV hookup.

I'm trying to get a Wii Fit for my wife and went to probably 10 stores and not only didn't they have a Wii Fit but none of them had a Wii either.

So someone asked the question, are they still hard to find. YES!
