I would not trust a poster with the few posts that "The Source" has. Does not provide a link, can't remember the news group?? "the Source says "I can't seem to remember where i heard this info from, but it was either from FOX Sports Southwest, ESPN, CNNSI, or some other sports programming" If Hakeem were to sign in the near future as the Source states that Vecsey says, it would be all over the internet not to mention the radio and morning newspapers. Strange that no other poster had heard this Vecsey inside info. FREDTERP

I doubt if we hear from "The source" again, I think he has had his fun. FREDTERP

Fredterp...I read the Post everyday here in NJ and there has been nothing to the rumor that he has signed already. The only thing that the paper reported was that the Knicks were meeting with Dream today in Houston.

    ps...are you a Terp alum?

I am a Maryland Terp working in Washington, DC a few blocks from the White House. I have followed Terence (TRock, now TRocket) since he played JV at Thomas Johnson HS in Frederick, Md. My son and I know Terence since my son played with Terence in high school. You could not find a nicer and respectful person. I now root for the Rockets and find this board extremely knowledgeable with many posters who really know the Rockets. There have been many good threads to read over the past few weeks after the draft. Can't wait to see the Rocket players on tv Thursday. Coincidently, Steve Francis went to my former high school Montgomery Blair in Silver Spring, Md. So with former Terps Francis, TRock and Walt Williams, it makes it easy to root for the Rockets. Im a former Terp as well. I was there the year after the Bias tragedy. I saw Walt, Brian Williams for a year (now Bison dele), Keith Gatlin, Rudy Archer, the Lewis' etc etc etc. I grew up down in Houston as a Rocket fan so I was pretty pumped when they got Stevie last year. I was also thrilled that T Mo got a chance to play after his stock fell in his senior year.

I went to Cole Field House one time around 1975 and saw John Lucas leading the Terps against East Carolina University.

NJRocket, you mentioned Terence's stock falling his senior year. In Terence's junior year, the next night after Maryland had beat Duke on Duke's homecourt, Terence was at the St. James nationally known high school tourney. I kidded Terence that my daughter whom Terence knew, that she was going to attend Maryland if he was going to stay for his senior year. He told me that he was not coming back! A few weeks later, his high school coach made calls to NBA people in the know, TRock changed his mind to enter the draft early. If only he had gone, he had a guaranteed top 10-15 spot in the draft. His overall game improved, but his shooting took a dive downward during his senior year.

RichRocket, the new Comcast Center is to replace Cole Field House after this season. Maryland wanted Lefty Driesell to play in the last Cole Field House game, but Lefty wanted Maryland to play in Atlanta, deal consequently never was made. FREDTERP

Fredterp...didn't T Mo also fracture his foot in a pickup game after his junior season which contributed to his decision to stay? Or was that after his soph season?

NJTerp, Terence injured his foot after his soph year. It set him back significantly going into his junior year. It took a while for TRock to get his skills back. It seemed to me as a big turning point for it was after he made 1st Team All-ACC. I think he slipped to 2nd team All-ACC that junior year. I am anxiously awaiting TRock's play with Steve Francis because the two seem to click extremely well together. FREDTERP
