So, I have been looking for vehicles for about 2 months now, and the vehicles (All Auto Trans) I had in mind were:

    2008 Nissan Sentra(Good Con) - Power Seat Windows, 30k miles - Good Gas Mileage - $13,000
    2007 Volkwagen Jetta(Good Con) - Power Seat Windows 30k miles - A little more classy - $13,455
    2005 Mazda6 (Okay Con)- Power Seat Windows 40k miles - Quick - 11,255$
2006 Honda Accord (Good Con) - Leather Interior (Good Condition) , 40k miles, Ugly Wheels (plan on changing), - 13,955 - I had to negotiate big time.

I am leaning towards the Honda what do you guys suggest, with your experience with the above vehicles, I willl put 3,500 down and finance the rest with my dad co-signing (Excellent Credit)

Honda and try getting the price down closer to 13K. No ones really buying right now so there a big chance the sales man will bite.

I think it's between the Nissan and Honda. The Nissan is newer, has fewer miles and is cheaper.

The Honda has leather seats and not that many more miles, and should last you forever, but is more expensive.

    Honda, for sure.

I have owned all four of the makes that you listed and Honda is BY FAR the most reliable. They are damn near bullet proof in terms of maintenance.

If you need an honest, reliable Honda mechanic on the North side use Burden Honda on FM 1960 and Jones. The few issues that I have had they have fixed cheaply and permanently.

So true. Every Honda I've had, and I've had several over the years, starting in 1982, can take all the abuse you can throw at it. Just be sure to replace the timing belt (or chain, whatever) when called for, change the oil, and drive.

i suppose the Honda as long as they're not using the same transmission from the 98-02 models. those things are a POS. i know 2 other people with a '99 and 01' and myself who owns an 02 model. we all had transmission problems before the car hit 90K miles.

I agree. My Jetta had some crazy problems when I first got it (used), but now it has been flawless and is getting close to 150k miles. So, aside from the initial disappointment, it's been solid.

That being said, I don't drive down 59 on a daily basis, so I am not sure how my car would fair. I'd go with the Honda.

Don't buy the VW. They are terrible in terms of reliability. The worse of the bunch by a large margin.

I would do the Honda even though I've had great experiences with mazda.

BTW why not look at mazda 3's. I think you can get a new one or near new one for 13K.

These cars are all different, so it may depend on what you're looking for in a car. My personal choice would be the Honda. I wouldn't touch a VW. The Mazda 6 is older and you say it's only in "OK Con", so I don't know what to make of that, but as a new car, it's a pretty good car and would've probably been my 2nd choice. The Sentra is a smaller car, so it would be 3rd, but then again it's newer. If that's just a base Sentra, you can probably get a better deal on that car with that much mileage. I'm looking at Carmax's site and they have that car with fewer miles for about the same price. Same with the Mazda6.

Check around on these prices. Have you looked at Carmax?
