Hi guys. I need a car to go to work and back. My only source of transportation to work is either take the Metro, in which I have to walk a ways to the bus stop in the mornings (some days) about 6:00am and it's freezing. Or, I can get a ride from my girlfriend on her way to school. I really need a car for about $1,500 or less. Any help from y'all will be appreciated. Thanks.
Dude, go to auctions. You can get a car that will get you from Point A to Point B in your price range easily, As long as you are not worried about loooks you should be fine. I got my 94 Mercury Tracer for around 400 dolllars, and the only work I have done to it is get new tires, and that is coz there was a nice special goingo on. otherwise you can get like civics, olds, cavaliers etc mid 90 models easily in your price range. I highly reccomend going to an auction
my friend got an 87 camaro for 1500 canadian. it's been reliable for the 3 years he's had it...although it is only a 6 cylinder.
http://www2.chroniclecars.com/vehicle_search.psp just search for cars in the Houston area that are under your price range. Honda's seem to be very reliable and thats what you should be most concerned with when getting a car in that price range.
Check out "The Greensheet." They have plenty of used autos for under 2K, I saw plenty of Buicks and Toyotas for cheap.
