Nebraska Player Caught On Video Assaulting Mizzou Fan

    OMAHA, Neb. -- Nebraska's football coach says he's reviewing an ugly incident caught on videotape after Saturday's loss to Missouri.

    A Nebraska player is seen hitting and knocking down a Missouri fan when the two crossed paths on the field in Columbia, Mo. Fans swarmed the field after the Tigers beat the Cornhuskers 41-24.

    The Nebraska player, Kellen Huston, ran on toward the locker room, while a Missouri player helped the fan off the turf.

    Nebraska coach Frank Solich says he has spoken with Huston but no disciplinary action has been taken. He says he regrets it if a fan was hurt.

    The police chief at the University of Missouri says there's been no complaint filed and no arrest.

    Speaking to CNN, the fan said that he was punched and that Huston should face disciplinary action. The fan wanted to remain anonymous.

    That was horrible what that player did. He should be charged with assault. Now if he'd have done it to me.....well, Nebraska would be short one player. :D

    I mean that Cornshucker jack-off friggin cold-cocked him. I'm surprised the guy didn't break something, especially if that was astroturf they were playing on.

    Brad watched over him and waved for medics until he was pulled away for the TBS on field postgame interview. In one clip, a couple of Mizzou fans saw it but kept on walking like it was nothing. Brad was the first person to come to the guy's aid. The guy was knocked out cold and didn't regain consciousness until he was in the ambulance.

    If Solich had any integrity whatsoever, he'd throw that scumbag off the team. I can't believe all he did was "talk to him".

    Did anyone else think of Kermit Washington after seeing that video?

    Absolutely not. While what Kermit did was absolutely horrible, he thought he was doing it out of self-defense. This ****er did not. He was just pissed after getting whipped and sucker punched a fan.

    I was referring more to the severity of the punch itself. I mean the guy was unconscious until he got to the ambulance!

    So we have an Ohio State player choking a Wisconsin QB and now a Nebraska player punching a fan. Oh great :rolleyes: where is college football heading. :rolleyes:

    Uhggly-- that was really gross---that linebacker or whatever was huge and smashed that poor kid. Reminded me of Rudy T getting hit-- totally unexpected and beyond uncalled for-- why would he do that?!? He should be arrested.

    Wow! I hadn't seen that. Solich needs to throw him off the team, no doubt. Also, Nebraska has really classy fans and I have a feeling they will demand it.

    The player stated that he was basically acting in self defense. If it was self defense, then why did he keep running to the locker room???

    I also find the self defense argument hard to buy. The guy was still in full gear and the fan looked to be much smaller than he was.

    In Kellen's defense though, this is why fans should never be allowed on a field. Ever.

    Solich suspended him for one game, although I feel he should be kicked off the team. They (local TV) had the coach on last night and apparently the fan was taunting him but that still doesnt condone what he did.

    This is disappointing. First Ohio State and now Nebraska. Two programs that I have always heard how classy they were compared to other programs, *ahem* Miami, Florida State, etc, and they have ugly incidents like this happened to their program and their response is a 1 game suspension? Are you kidding me??

    Nice job by ESPN in burying this story as one of "Oh by the way, Nebraska player slugs fan..." Once again, if it wasn't for Nebraska being such a "classy" program, I'm sure that it would be the next thing to talk about after the baseball playoffs.:rolleyes:

    It's a chant at EVERY CU game (whether Nebraska is involved or not), and this incident is one of many proving why it's the most popular chant.
