10 point lead in the 4th. 4 minutes left. Nebraska ball. Beat the **** out of those Sooners. It's so beautiful I could cry.
WOOOHOOO!!!! The dynasty is over. Stoops deal with the devil has expired. btw, NU looked very beatable.
Only one thing worries me-- OU played the game close enough to where they might not fall below Texas in the polls... we'll see. Texas should move up to 6th with the Virginia Tech loss, and possibly 5th if Georgia plays Florida close. But it will be tough to push OU back to 5 or below with this loss... we need them or Nebraska to lose again.
there is NO way that OU will fall below UT in this week's polls. They only lost to the No. 2 team in the bcs, No. 3 in the polls, they will not fall below UT, whom they beat. There IS a possibility that they fall below them in coming weeks, if they lose to Tech or A&M. But not this week. Unless Miami and/or UCLA loses, UT will not get in the rose bowl. I am not saying OU will, but they have the upper hand on UT by beating them, therefore probably playing in the big 12 championship against NEBRASKA. IF they win that game, then 2 of OU, NEB, MIAMI, or UCLA will play in the Rose Bowl. the other 2 will play in the orange bowl. My question is this. If miami and ucla both lose, and ou wins the big 12 championship, can ou vs. NEB play each other for a 3rd time?
they will not fall below UT, whom they beat. Seems awfully familiar to what some Notre Dame fans said in 1993. By the way, Stanford is dominating UCLA right now. If UCLA loses, Texas will be at least 5th in the polls tomorrow, and possibly as high as 3rd, depending on Florida's performance and how far OU drops.
A great day of college football. VT loses. OU loses. Ga and Fla tied at 10. A&M struggling vs. ISU Stanford dominating UCLA. Texas leads Mizzou 28-16 in the 4th Qtr.
By the way, this is another brilliant day for Chris Simms. 80% passing (24-30), 232 yards (9.7 per pass), 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions And also, Benson has rushed for 158 yards on 31 carries, no fumbles. Great day all around.
Game over, Texas wins 35-16. Solid effort, good win on the road. We probably should've won by more, but after watching V-Tech and UCLA getting beat, and in the case of UCLA, seriously thumped, I'll take a good, solid win on the road.
ISU 21, A&M 24...late in the 4th. Can the Aggies hold on? ABC's ticker is wrong. Game is over. Aggies win.
Since OU, Simms has thrown 12 td's and 1 int. He needs 4 td passes to break Major's record. How many rushing td's does he have? He may have set the record for total td's already.
Life is good. Oklahoma finally loses. Virginia Tech is overrated and loses. UCLA is getting beat..me thinks they are overrated, too. Georgia playing Florida tough. Oh yes, Miami has already won. Maybe this season won't be so bad after all.
UT only lost to the AP # 3 team at the time. Also, the BCS rankings were not released but it can be assumed OU was BCS # 1. UT has won 3 games since their loss to OU including a win over AP # 14 Colorado. In the world of college football polls its what have you done for me lately. I wouldn't be surprised to see OU fall below UT, I mean the game was a toss up for 58 minutes. Unless UCLA can comeback in the 4th quarter, the Bruins will have a loss. UT has a chance to play in the Rose Bowl, but several things must happen as the season progresses. OU has the upper hand in terms of the Big XII Championship, but UT does not need the championship to play in the Rose Bowl. OU and Nebraska will knock each other out of the national championship picture. I predict Nebraska to win the rest of their games although I'm counting on either Colorado or Kansas State to give them a game. I'm also counting on Tech and A&M to give OU a game. It might be better for Texas to not play for the Big XII championship and win out. Miami still has to play Virginia Tech. VT took Syracuse lightly and lost. Do you think Beamer won't have his guys ready for Miami? The Big East championship will be on the line. The Hokies should be ready. OU and Nebraska can play each other for a 3rd time but its unlikely because 1) two conference teams playing each other in a major bowl and 2) no wants to see a third game.
I wouldn't, this is the BCS, I've learned to expect the unexpected from those crazy computer polls. But a tenative prediction : 1)NU 2)MIA 3)OU 4)Texas 5)Michigan.
Oh, I think you guys are right about the BCS standings. OU will probably be ahead of Texas. I was thinking about the AP and Coaches Poll. I think Texas could slip ahead of OU in one of those polls.
Not a bad prediction, Pued, but Florida would be ahead of Michigan and maybe, notice I said MAYBE, ahead of Texas. I know you guys are pulling for the Horns to get up to #2, but even if Miami loses, I think that you still have to hope for Florida to lose. I hate the Gators with a passion, mainly because of the arrogance of Spurrier. However, today's game against Georgia was a perfect indication of how Florida wins. They gave Georgia several opportunities and the Dawgs failed to take advantage of them. I think that Texas could beat them, but considering whose left on their schedule, I don't see Florida losing again. If they did lose again, I would be very surprised. I still feel that it will be Nebraska and Miami in the Rose Bowl when everything is said and done.
I cannot ****ing believe college football. Look at three teams: Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Each has one loss. Texas lost a close game against a top football team in Oklahoma. OU lost a close game against the #1 football team in Nebraska. Florida lost a close game against a team barely in the top 25. And somehow Florida is ahead of both Texas and OU? What a joke. By the way, OU better watch out... check out the point total in this week's voting. 4. Oklahoma 7-1 1,263 5. Texas 7-1 1,259
