Although this week doesn't have the "big game" hype like last week's Va Tech - Miami contest, there's still some good ones out there. Enjoy.

    #5 LSU @ #4 Alabama
Alabama's lucky streak ends here. Their offense didn't do sh*t against MSU, Ole Miss, or Tennessee, as they managed only 36 points in those three games combined. Aside from the Florida game, they haven't done much of late, and they will be exposed when JaMarcus Russell comes into Tuscaloosa.

    LSU 27 - Bama 10

    #1 USC @ Cal
Some people marked this game as a possible upset at the beginning of the year, as USC has struggled against Cal over the past 3 years. This year, however, is different, as Joseph Ayoob is no Aaron Rodgers. Expect USC to score early and often and to win by 3 TDs or more. Marshawn Lynch is a good back for Cal, but he'll be neutralized by the USC LBs. White, Bush, and Leinart will show why they're the best trio in the nation.

    USC 45 - Cal 17

    Kansas @ #2 Texas
Horns are pissed off after being disrespected by human blimp Mark Mangino, after last year's win in Lawrence. Mangino blamed the officiating on the loss, refusing to credit Vince for taking over the final 5 minutes of the game. Vince will unleash hell on the vaunted #1 rated KU rush defense. Jamaal Charles appears healthy, and, as always, Billy Pittman and David Thomas are there to stretch defenses. Kansas doesn't stand a chance. Texas wins big.

    Texas 48 - Kansas 10

    #15 Auburn @ #9 Georgia
The outcome of this game depends largely upon the pending return of Georgia QB DJ Shockly. UGA's coming off a bye week, so he might be rested. If he's not there, expect the offense to sputter under backup QB Joe Tereshinski. Auburn lost plenty of talent on offense to NFL last season, but they still know how to play D and keep games close. The outcome of this game depends solely on Shockley's knee.

UGA 20 - Auburn 13 *(if Shockley is healthy)

    #17 Florida St. @ Clemson
Clemson is surprisingly a 2 pt favorite in this year's Bowden Bowl. But, when you look at how FSU's been playing, maybe it's not such a surprise. They lost to a .500 NC State team last week, and struggled to beat an average Maryland squad the week before that. FSU hasn't been able to run the ball with Lorenzo Booker this year, which puts tremendous pressure on Drew Weatherford's shoulders. Drew's only a RS frosh, so he'll see all kinds of blitzes. Still, I see this as a bounce back game for FSU that can kinda salvage their season. They can still finish the regular season a respectable 9-2.

    Florida St. 24 - Clemson 21

    Texas A&M @ Oklahoma
Okay, so maybe this game's not that big, but I figure it should be entertaining as it has local implications. OU appears to be coming together after winning their last 4 games. Adrian Peterson looked much better against Nebraska two weeks ago, and he should open things up for Rhett Bomar. All year long opposing QBs have had record days against the A&M secondary, and this week should be no different. Frosh WR Malcolm Kelly has emerged as a deep play threat, and the secondary is learning fast. Meanwhile A&M has one of the worst rated pass defenses in the country, and talent level is atrocious. The team has all but given up on Fran. On the other hand, Stoops has had two weeks preparation for this one.

    OU 37 - A&M 16

Not too bad. I don't think LSU will be Bama though. LSU has been shaky all season long in my opinion, while Bama's offense stalled those 3 games like you said, they still came out on top.

Looks about right to me.....I'll be interested to see if Cal can keep it close. It will depend on how much they can lean on Lynch, rather than Ayoob. Ayoob has looked like crap this season. He wasn't even starting until the other QB went down for the season.

I think LSU wins, but maybe a little closer. I'm thinking along the lines of 20-10, or something. They should be kicking themselves over the way they lost to Tennessee. They could be undefeated as well.

Les Miles is good for one choke job a year. Unfortunately, this year's incident cost him a shot at the title. I still think LSU wins out and goes to the BCS, as they've got the most talented team in the SEC.

Actually I believe that UT will defeat Kansas on Saturday. Last year Kansas proved they were the better team, however, in Lawrence. Pass interference, my azz.

    Kansas: 4-7, bowl ineligible
    Texas: 11-1, Rose Bowl Champs

How exactly was Kansas the better team?

I think Auburn is going to beat Georgia. Auburn has really only lost 2 very close games. I think FSU may win by more, and see no reason why the Aggies won't lost by more than 21 :)

Don't even try Baqui, Bigtexx is just one of those bitter posters who regrets not going to UT.

4th and 18 with a minute left...how many teams do you know that could have converted that for the win?

    Tulane @ # 117 Rice

Tulane will feel right at home on the road and extend the nation's longest losing streak to 15. If ESPN gave a damn about C-USA, Tulane's Lester Ricard would receive a helmet sticker for his Heisman like performance against the Tri Lambs. After the game, the 200 Rice fans err family and friends of players will boast of academic superiority and give Coach Hasbeen Homophobe a vote of confidence. Lube up.

I think your score here is way to high. Defenses will dominate and the team who doesn't turn the ball over or gets special teams plays will win. 1st team to get a TD wins and I think LSU wins on a couple big plays. Skyler Green is the likely candidate.

    13-6 LSU.

USC or Texas will have to have very off days for those games to be competive. Cal has been decent at times, if it is great day for Cal's offense and a bad day for USC, Cal could get a chance in a shoot out. USC's defense has not been impressive this year, just look at the 21PPG average. If Ayoob (Cal QB) can play a lot better than he lately to provide offensive balance Cal could score in the 30s, given them a chance. In fact if USC has a bad offensive day any of their last 3 games they could lose. Of course they have not had a bad offense day all season, so easier said than done.

On Aub-Geor, Shockley or no Shockley Auburn is playing better than Georgia right now. Georgia must have some success on the ground to win this game. I would defintely pick Auburn solidly except the game is between the hedges. I still like Auburn though, I think their offense will be a tad more productive in another defensively controlled SEC match-up. Something like 20-10.

OU handles the Aggies at OU. Tech better be ready for OU as well next week.

I'd pick FSU, too much talent advantage in the skill positions and team speed for Clemson.

What about Navy-ND? Navy has as good a shot at ND as Kansas does at Tex, which is next to nothing, but it is not quite nothing.

We're going to shock the world tomorrow, baby! Go Bears!

OK, I'm not exactly going to bet my house on it ... ;)

The thing is, while this isn't the same Cal team that went 1-1 against USC the past two years (and thoroughly outplayed USC in their house despite the loss last year), Cal actually believes it can beat SC. Other teams might say they do, but I don't think they really believe it. It's a little thing, but it does make a difference.

I do think Desert Scar's analysis is right on, though. Ayoob needs to play the best game he's played all year (man, has he been disappointing), and Cal needs to score at least 30 pts to win. That's a lot of "ifs."

This Cal fan is happy to do anything that makes it easier for Texas to make the Rose Bowl. After all, Texas is my second favorite team.

^ Well I hope you're right. I think Cal is USC's last obstacle, some would say UCLA had a chance but I thought they were overrated from the start.

Suprised to see a Cal fan that likes us Horns, especially after the whole BCS thing last season. I know the secret key to beating USC: Stop Leinart. :D

I guess I'm rooting for UT...

I find it hard to really get into a college team when I didn't go to the school...

but of the teams contending for the champ... I'm from Texas..and had I decided to go to a state school I'd have gone to Texas..

So i suppose I hope they win.. don't really care either way though...

they are one heck of a team. that is for sure

USC nearly did - what 4th and 10 with about a minute left against ND. I was in shock as I was already think UT was #1 and couldn't believe it.

But when it comes to UT bigtex has a bitter beer face.

Yeah, I was at First Colony Mall watching it on one of the Time Warner Cable's TVs, talk about being disappointed.
