Well someone had to do it. This morning from of all people...the Drudge Report... Hillary Clinton's inner circle now fears a stinging defeat is likely in North Carolina. "Look, we worked hard and gave it our best shot, but the demographics, well, they are what they are," a top campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT as voting began Tuesday morning. The campaign now believes a 15 point loss, or more, would not be surprising. Her team will work hard throughout the day to lower all expectations in North Carolina. The campaign hopes media attention will stay fixated on the competition in Indiana, where 72 delegates are on the line, and Clinton internals show a victory! MORE North Carolina had been seen by Clinton insiders as the senator's last shot to seriously jolt the system and overshadow the math. With 115 delegates at stake, North Carolina posed an uphill battle for Clinton. Obama easily carried the region in earlier voting, topping Clinton in Maryland by 23-points; Virginia by 29, South Carolina 28 and Georgia 36. The campaign hopes to move quickly onto a victory next Tuesday in West Virginia, where only 28 delegates are at stake. ---------------- Obama by 9 in NC Obama by 2 in IN
I'm with you, although my home state of IN might be a bit closer. Today's vote will change nothing other than nudge the inevitability factor more towards Obama. The fact he seems to have weathered the latest flight on Wright shows his candidacy is quite resilient and that the Dems just aren't willing to turn to Hillary. If she had only showed some class (LOL!) and hadn't burned herself so much trying to set him on fire, she could have capitalized on his troubles.
The large African American population will certainly carry NC for Obama. I'm actually really surprised they identify with Obama, given that he has so very little in common with their experiences and upbringing. Yes, his father was from Africa (the vast majority of African Americans' do not share this in common with Obama), but he was raised in a very non African American environment by whites....then attended Ivy League schools. So is it really just about the skin color?
you're right, they should actually identify with hillary, a white woman who went to privaledged schools, or mccain white guy with a history of officers in the military. ---->
there's no doubt black people love clinton, and if anything they view him as someone who doesn't block their progress. but remember going back to yesterday, one of clinton's biggest accomplishments along with the republican congress he worked with is welfare reform. racial politics are complicated. of course just 6 months ago barack wasn't black enough.
Twas a joke, but welfare reform was a significant accomplishment for Clinton, something he should be proud of.
I'm more or less with you. My updated prediction is Obama by 18 in NC and Hillary by 6 in IN. Indiana provides the justification for her to continue, and on and on we go...
So when white voters favor Hillary, is it also simply about skin color? Or does this only apply to black voters?
For blacks this is part of martin of that dream martin Luther king spoke about at the march on Washington in 1963. He’s clean cut, married to an African American women, both are highly educated, seems to have pretty good morals, and appears to have a happy family. It’s a great thing for blacks to look up too. Regardless what people think, MOST black look up to him, and are shocked that he is in the position he is in. A black kid could say in grade school, “I want to be president of the United States” and it could now actually be a realistic goal…This is a defining moment in black history and shows this country has come along way for blacks and whites. My little cousin is in middle school and he is now taking politics serious and now says he want to work in the white house one day. He didn't just say it, but he now actually check out law books and is highly into politics now. For Hillary it’s the same thing, but takes out black history and adds women’s rights.
