I really believe Jones still has something left in the tank. He is the kind of big back/workhorse back the Texans need to compliment our passing game.

Amen... but how big of a contract is he going to demand?

this guy is very underrated. I wrote him off years ago but he has proven me wrong. I say he has 1 productive season left, and would offer him a 2 year deal just in case

I would never sign a 32 year old running back. He is still solid but he played behind the best offensive line in the NFL with 4 Pro Bowl offensive lineman. I much rather draft a running back in the draft to compete with Slaton, Foster, and Johnson for playing time. But I am sure some time will overpay for him but I just hope its not the Texans.

    He's actually still pretty decent.

I'd say he's got another full-load season in him, unlike LT and Westbrook.

Yet you're salivating over a clearly washed up and finished LDT?

At the very worst, Jones would immediately become our best short yardage back.

Sadly, I'm getting the impression that McNair has lukewarm interest in being aggressive with his money.

Interesting. Gives us another option to look at bc I would rather draft a WR with the second round pick.

He ran for 1400 yards last year that alone should draw the Texans interest.

He might be digressing a little bit as he is over the age of 30, but he obviously is still able to be a nice running back.

If the Texans really want to win this year they should try and go for him.

    Yes, he is 32, but

-He did not even have 250 rushing attempts in a season until he was 27. He does not have the wear on him that other RBs do at his age.

-He had 1,400 rushing yards last season, good for 3rd in the NFL

-He had 2x the amount of rushing yards as Ladanian Tomlinson

    I say YES

Far better option than LT, assuming that neither will come with too much of a price tag.

But, with an uncapped year, we can afford to throw a 2-year deal with a little extra cash toward Jones.

Thomas Jones would be effective... he's effective in Madden at least.

Have you tried playing with him behind our horrible run O-Line?

i think we have to get him. thomas jones is still good. this is a pivotal year for the texans. if we don't make the playoffs or win 10 games...mcnair will be under a lot of pressure to fire kubiak. AJ may also leave, you never know.

Well.. Slaton seems to do well with that O-Line.. I would be interested in trying Jones though with the Texans in the game.

Samething I was thinking. SD letting LT and Sproles go and Jones being the best back on the market so SD would be a great fit. Would rather him in a Texans uni though.
