Did anyone watch this last night? I had it on as background noise while I was working and I don't recall hearing him, but the Chronicle's Tubular Blog says one of our own was on last night. I remember him talking about previous seasons. Can anyone confirm or deny? :D

I watched and I was wondering if I'd see him, but I tuned in at the end of the Austin Regional. That sucks.

    Let's go Billy D!

If he was the guy talking about trying to be a thug even though he's ticklish and wears his seatbelt, he was very funny. If he was the guy talking about how teachers only show films and videos because they are hungover from the night before, he was also very funny but didn't get picked.

There were some pretty funny cats on this time around. I watched the 1st season and none of those guys were funny, not even the winner.

Billy D. wasn't shown last night, but he was credited, so that means he auditioned. Whether he made the first cut? We'll see.

I did well I thought. Possibly had the best set of the night, but I didn't get picked. This show is not really about who is the funniest it's about good TV, especially in the house. I have no real skeletons in my closet, I am a family man, I don't have a weight problem, I am rarely confrontational, I don't cry easily and I am not gay, so why would people want to watch me every week?

It's a great show and although I felt like I got screwed based on my set, I'll still enjoy headlining clubs and DESTROYING those who were picked instead of me.

I think there is an internet vote of some kind, if so I'll keep you guys posted as to if I make that cut.

    Love,

    Billy D. Washington

I didn't see AB on there and I missed the credit, but I don't think he made it because we would have noticed him getting a ticket. I know he's better than a lot of the people who were picked. Ugh, the lisp girl.

You know, in the 2 previous years, I've seen them skip over succesful comics who've had Comedy Central 30 minute specials.

She was a sorry Rachel Dratch wannabe.

AB is right about this show. It's for TV and most of the comics are the struggling type, not really professionals like AB. ;)

It's pretty bad when you know what a comic's material is going to be before they even say a word. Oh look, here comes a fat guy. Gosh, I wonder what his material is going to focus on. And this guy is gay, wonder what he's going to talk about...

That's a shame AB - I would have been rooting for you.

Palsy guy was the only one I thought was good. He was flat in front of the two guys then lit up in front of the crowd. Well that's they way they SHOWED it anyway.

Thanks, I'm sure all of you would have, I was disappointed but there are bigger fish to fry. I am presently working on a project that could COMPLETELY change the game for me.

LCS is for amatuers and if I had listened to the real comics that warned me about doing it (Pablo Francisco etc.) I wouldn't have subjected myself to the scrutiny.

I hope Gabriel Iglesias or Josh Loner take it all. :)

Theo from Road Rules was a contestant who advanced

The guy who played Skippy on Family Ties was another contestant. Trying to reignite his career I guess. I don't think he made it. But I was busy changing poopy diapers, so I could be wrong.

that was hard to watch for me. when he got picked for the next round, that solidified the fact that the show was a POS. i didn't watch the rest of the show so he might have been killing the crowd.

Did you have to wait in line for a longass time or did the pros get different treatment? Oh, and I hope that if you were anywhere near Buck Star, you slapped his stupid ass.

BTW, did I just miss something or did they not even aknowledge Dat Phan as a former winner? I'm glad Alonzo won season 3, I was rooting for him during season 2. I think what bugs me about the show when it comes to picking winners is that only the people in the crowd get to vote and while they have a better view of things without tv edits, it means that only a select group of similar people from LA get to pick who wins for the rest of the country.

Nah my manager got me right in, this is my first season auditioning for that reason. I don't even think Dat does it anymore I heard he has taken 8-5 because he was getting killed on the road. Guys drive and fly in from everywhere to get a shot at this and some really good guys are ignored because of what you mention. The judges actually pick most of the contestants, the crowd only picks one. In Austin, for example, the guy that won the popular vote was a guy that was from there and had just finished another competition, needless to say his crowd was there....although he was pretty funny.

I'm watching this right now on Bravo and noticed people like Doug Benson and Bill Dwyer there. Don't they already have careers? I mean they arent starring on their own sitcoms but they have had relative success no ? I mean if I saw the first few winners of this show I wouldnt recognize them.

That's it, I am making a comeback, so what if I wasn't that funny 15 years ago, I am sure I am a hoot now.......

    CURAHEEEEEE !!!!!!

    ;)

Sorry to hear you didn't advance AB, but who cares, those 2 guys that judge it seem to be questionable at best.

Anyone watch it last night? Out of the five that went on, only Chris and Josh are funny. Even Chris' material sucked last night. Making fun of the French is so 2003, hell even Tom Delay doesn't care about the French anymore (him having his retirement dinner in a French restaurant and all).

The other three, the big black chick, the annoying redhead with that Texas-sized chip on her shoulder and the Gay dude, are terrible.

Yea, I was surprised with some of the results. I didn't think that the redhead chick belonged at all. Unless there was some portion we didn't hear, I thought she was the worst one of the whole night.

I thought that Saleem- (the guy who was talking about his white wife) was really good, and also that Wild West guy as well.

Surprised and dismayed, but as AB said they need to have people who look interesting in the house I guess. Prob. to appeal to more market segments.

I didn't see the show but caught the "announcement" part right when they were showing clips from the comics saying how much they wanted to win. I told my wife that the redhead would definitely make it because she has a look they want, the CP guy will definitely make it, and most likely the big black chick because the producers think (any)big black chick = drama.
