I didn't see this mentioned anywhere. No announcers Today's game will be presented without the usual blaring music or screaming arena announcer. Those watching on NBA TV will not hear announcers at all. Many years ago my friend own a sports bar and he could get the straight game feeds on satellite with no announcers. It was pretty cool, like being at the game.
except this time there is enhanced mics around the court so we can here what the players are saying or cursing or grunting.
strange idea but at times not a bad one i wouldnt mind not having to hear certain announcers, like boston, memphis, sacramento, lakers come to mind. if they have the courts/refs/pa announcer mic'ed up it should actually provide a decent viewing experience. i wonder if there would be any replays, those would be weird to see. at least its better than that live slow motion thing abc tried to do last year or so.
the chron didnt report it correctly... we CAN hear the PA announcer and the music in the arena, the only thing we can't hear is color commentary... at least that is what i am seeing on NBA tv... maybe its different for local Houston coverage...
