    They are talking about T-Mac and answering a question from a fan which goes like this "What is going on with all the trash talking about T-Mac? Since I am his #1 Fan, It is very frustrating hearing all those disrespectful comments. I think T-Mac is the closest thing to MJ What is your opinion? What advice would you give him about dealing with injuries?" - T-Mac Angel (NBA.com FAN VOICE)

    Gary Payton thinks people criticize him because of injuries and because fans don't like him injured

    Chris Webber thinks people criticize him because of him not getting out of the first round

    Btw, BOTH still think he's a superstar and a top 20 player in the league. lol. They laughed at the MJ comparison though. What do you guys think?

    Tinman about to have a heart attack on this thread...

    ...thus removing all the negative vibe from the Rockets, causing us to regain form and we go on to win the 'ship!

    Hey, one can dream, right? (Not about the heart attack, I don't wish that on anyone. I mean winning the 'ship)

    Hopefully other GMs also think he can still be a superstar, we need to get as much as we can for him.

    I think you would be very hard pressed to find any current or recently retired NBA players who will criticize him. They have a nice little fraternity based on all being soft and kissing each other's behinds. Many of them also have never won anything either. I would not expect Webber (nearly as soft as Tmac) or Payton (probaby still thinks he can get on a roster before the playoffs) to say anything negative about the NBA.

    I prefer Calvin Murphy's opinion since he isn't auditioning for a job.

    fraternity? are you serious? payton doesn't care what people think, what makes you think he cares if tracy likes what he has to say or not?

    webber just ripped amare a new one earlier on TNT when he said he would have won a ring with this current shaq and that amare is not really a superstar b/c he doesn't get 10+ boards a game.

    these guys are actual players. they played the game (webber played the game with injuries and people counted him out too). so they understand what tracy is going through. hell steve francis AND dwayne wade sympathized for tracy.

    but here we have guys who are on a forum talking like they know everything.

    In fairness, sometimes players are not all that smart either, and they do protect their own....

    that may be true if these guys PLAYED with tracy. these guys never did. and we do know players do make fun of one another (pistons players said tracy was half-man half-a-season).

    and like i pointed out, webber destroyed amare on a TNT segment earlier this year. and you really think he would hold back on tracy if he had something to say?

    and trust me, payton protects NOBODY. you can't stop his mouth if he has something to say.

    they all saw the game. tracy still struggles with that knee.

    'Nuff said.

    This is the one instance where you appreciate Screamin A Smith's style

    Since when does Payton, the rookie TV analyst not care what people think? He isn't locking people down on the court anymore so I don't think you can summon memories of his NBA career trash talking to make a point. Political correctness is usually the best course to success in the media unless you are Charles Barkley.

    Maybe a personal beef with Amare. They did guard one another for several years and Amare does run his mouth a lot. I'm not sure about this one but I do know Webber takes the player's side every time I've seen him on ESPN or on TNT.

    Francis is an idiot. Plain and simple. He proved that again today on Calvin Murphy's show.

    Francis to Calvin: "Tracy is definitely injured."
    Calvin: "The doctors say he isn't injured"
    Francis: "Don't quote me on that Calvin"

    D Wade is a nice guy. You think he is going to tell it like it is? NBA players almost never criticize each other unless things get personal on the court. Of course you have guys like Rasheed who tell people how they really feel. Like when Rasheed made fun of Tracy and called him "Half man half a season"

    No. We do have people who think they know more than doctors and professional trainers. Or does Steve Francis come over to your house with a 6 pack of heinekens and a copy of McGrady's MRIs so you guys can have a look for yourselves? It's a fact McGrady isn't hurt. It's a fact that the experts say he has to play to get through the pain.

    I did.
    I'm not surprised dude.
    Fans of today throw out legends like they were Von Wafer or Ryan Bowen.
    I'm sure Gary Payton and Webber in their minds are thinking the exact same thing that I'm thinking. Laughing, but inside they are disturbed on the pure disrespect of the game.

    To me, as a long time NBA fan, comparing T-mac to MJ is a pure insult.
    Not only to Michael Jordan.
    Not only to the Chicago Bulls.
    Not only to the Houston Rockets fans makes us look like stupid idiots.
    Its an insult to the game of basketball.

    Jordan's resume:
    Six-time NBA champion (1991-93, 1996-98);
    NBA MVP (1988, '91, '92, '96, '98);
    10-time All-NBA First Team (1987-93, 1996-98);
    All-NBA Second Team (1985);
    Defensive Player of the Year (1988);
    Nine-time All-Defensive First Team (1988-93, 1996-98);

    Rookie of the Year (1985);
    14-time All-Star;
    All-Star MVP (1988, '96, '98);
    One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996);
    Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1984, '92).

    The only way Tracy could even feel like Michael Jordan is if he goes to Foot Locker and buys his shoes.

    How do you compare MJ to Tmac in Orlando?
    Cause Tmac in Orlando was so good,

    they didn't even need to play a 2nd Round.

    They didn't even care about winning games!

    It's just about watching how awesome Tmac is at scoring points!

    Who cares about winning?

    MVPs? Defensive? Teamwork?

    If I were the richest man in the world, I buy all the Tmac fans a one-way ticket to Orlando so they can pretend he's still playing there and scoring all those points.

    did allen iverson have a boat load of talent when he went to the finals? what about lebron a couple years ago against the spurs?

    Hell Paul Pierce won a playoff series before he got any significant help, unless you think Antoine Walker in his prime counts as significant.

    On top of which, almost ever year since T-mac has been here, he keeps claiming how this is the most talent he has ever been surrounded by. Yet the results are the same. Its ok if people think t-mac just hasn't been fortunate, but the no talent argument is a broken record and tired IMO.

    my favorite memory of him is when he called the series with a 3-1 lead over detroit, went on to lose 3 in a row.

    its embarrassing your handle has the word Rockets in it.

    Jordan on any of the Rockets team of JVG and Rick Adelman would have gone to the Finals and won it.

    Last year's team with 22 wins and broken foot Yao. Jordan would have taken that team to the Finals.
