King Kong has died and it looks like his son is following in his footsteps.

Son of Kong wounded NBAtalk has learned through a league source that Seattle and New York have again failed to reach an agreement to swap Patrick Ewing and Vin Baker. The latest proposal, after King Kong had died, was a package deal initiated by the Knicks that had Seattle sending Baker AND Horace Grant in exchange for Ewing and filler players. Of course, the Sonics balked at such an idea. Originally, Seattle would have been able to send off its filler players to meet cap regulations. Being asked to be on the receiving end of such a transaction seemingly didn't sit too well with them. And as a result, the end of the business day concluded with no deal.

Looking better and better each day...

They didn't say it was official; they said it would be announced that afternoon, which was indeed true until Detroit pulled out minutes before it was to be announced. You can't fault them for not being physhic and not knowing what Detroit would do.

I don't honestly think that they would make up something like this, and I don't see how it can be anything but a big positive for us.

It was said earlier in NBAtalk that if they couldn't work anything out by Thursday that it wouldn't be done. Hopefully things go bad tommorrow as well. Then Mo Taylor will be ours!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! (Evil laugh)

It's about time they change the name of that site to NBAgossip because all of the true things can be found on NBA.com and the rest is usually trash or assumptions.

    Pimp,

NBAtalk.com is better than some of your other stuff out there. It's pretty legit. The reason it's better than NBA.com is nba.com only reports things when they are official, and it's hard not to know any of the inside scoop in a period of waiting like this. [IMG]

I know many people don't support NBAtalk, but they are usually a fairly reliable source of information. They relay a lot of valid information from newspapers, and even have some sources of their own. They aren't trying to assume anything like some of the other rumor sites out there.

I think that nbatalk.com follows the rule of 3rds fairly well... about 1/3 of it is true, another 1/3 is somewhat true, and 1/3 of it is just hairbrained.

In other words, worth reading but not taking too seriously [IMG].

Well, back to these games again, but as New Guy posted in another thread Mo looks like he is leaning toward Houston now and make a decision by Saturday. This is so funny, we have heard this before. Oh well. I think if it is gonna happen , it will happen tomorrow or Friday.

Fox News just reported that an "NBA source" (?) has told them that Mo is leaning towards Houston and will make a decision by Saturday. ESPN is saying that the Sonics-Knicks deal is essentially fully dead and ready to be buried (and Vin and Pat are not very happy campers right now), so...

    Who knows.

I'd be shocked if Mo stalled again....
