Without a doubt Wade and Kobe are 1a and 1b. But the 3rd best spot is really debatable. The candidates are: Joe Johnson - The unknown Brandon Roy - The most recent to have reached stardom. Vince Carter - The don't forget about me just yet. Manu Ginobili - The injured guy with multiple championships. Tracy Mcgrady - The injured Rockets favorite. I would personaly go with Vince Carter. I don't think Iverson belongs on this list anymore, or anyone else comes close to being considered 3rd best SG.. This is a Poll...
Brandon Roy, easily. He's a flat out stud. He always dominates in the 4th quarter, but his team outside of LaMarcus Alridge sucks balls and blows it for them. It's Brandon Roy.
I'll say Ginobili. I'd rather have him in the fourth quarter of a crucial game than any of the others listed.
I'd go with Johnson. And then a healthy McGrady or Ginobili. I don't consider Roy a shooting guard, especially when Webster was projected to start.
I was actually thinking about Joe Johnson. I was looking at his NBA profile just now, and that's what gave me the idea for this thread. I know he is supposed to be really good and has a great all around game, but his stats don't look that great. Also has he accomplished anyting in his career yet? His team never seems to win. If you look at other guys on the list, they have all proved themselves in the league, specially Carter and Ginobili. I was wathing a game ESPN some time ago and Joe Johnson's name came up as the 3rd best, but I'm not too sure about that.
Brandon Roy. He's as clutch as anyone in the league, he's young and he is going to keep getting better.
I think it's pretty clearly Joe Johnson right now.. it should be Roy in another couple of years, but he's not there yet.
In terms of trade value, I would say Johnson. In terms of talent, Vince Carter. In terms of winning games, Manu and Paul Pierce.
When fully healthy it's Tmac. Joe Johnson and Vince Carter are really close. Right now like right this moment and only getting better .... It's Brandon Roy no doubt.
Joe Johnson. He and his team took the Celtics to 7 games. I want to see what Roy is going to do in the playoffs (assuming they make it).
You have to go with T-Mac. Now he is healthly and once he gets his rythm rolling he will be great to watch But yes, JJ is very good as well.
Hmm if Tmac was fully healthy, I'd say he's up there with Dwade as the 2nd best sg in the league. As it is, I'd have to go with Manu Ginobili, or Brandon Roy. Ginobili is easily the best SG you want on the floor outside of Kobe in a close game. The dude has proven his clutchness and winning attitude time and time again. The fact that he can score all over and finish with flair is a definite plus. Roy on the other hand is a bonafide franchise player. He does everything well, plus he provides leadership to his team. Factor in his age (he's only 23) and I'd say you can't go wrong with either Manu or Roy.
Joe Johnson. I'd have picked Roy, but watching the playoffs last season, Joe Johnson is very underrated.
If T-Mac was playing the way he was in his 1st year here in Houston or his years in Orlando, he would arguably the best player in the NBA with Kobe and LeBron. Sadly, Injures have plagued him.
