They have us taking the sophomore out of Bradley. Interesting pick IMO, b/c i always envisioned us grabbing a backcourt player who can knock down open 3's. But this makes sense too, Yao needs a real backup (Dikembe is not gonna cut it next year), that can give a solid 15-20 min off the bench. He's got a 7-6 wingspan so that should translate well.

NBAdraft.net does not project picks by needs.

All they are doing is ranking players by what they think their talent level is. It is completely uncorrelated to what team is in what spot.

damn, Brad Daugherty is the comparison.

Thats horrible when you look at Tim Duncan and Eddie Griffin. This guy must suck hardcore if he's gettin a liberal brad daughtery comparison.

NBAdraft.net is notorious for talkin up players like Badiane is the next Hakeem.

Brad Daugherty wasn't bad at all, he just got injured all the time.

But yea, its pointless to focus on mock drafts this early. My favorite comparison they have is deshawn stevenson being compared to michael jordan.

Deshawn stevenson compared to michael jordan? That is pure hilarity. Another really lame comparison this year is Adam Morrison to Larry Bird. Has anyone ever seen Larry Bird cry on or off the court??? Ever?? I think they're just looking at skin pigmentation.

I wouldn't take anything at nbadraftnet seriously.

Even moreso with the draft so far away.

I absolutely dispise it how a couple good games in the NCAA tourney vault up players like Noah and Thomas. I still wouldn't pick them over the previous top big guys like Aldridge, Morrison or even Gay. Good lord, especially not Noah!

NBADRAFT.NET is a horrible website. I remeber one a couple of years ago when they had Chris Duhon is the 3rd pick. Those NBA comparsions are horrible.

Yao doesn't need a backup b/c we'll probably be stuck w/ Swift next season

I think that NBADraft.net is a good resource if you understand its limitations. I don't think that they rank according to the particular needs and wants of teams until the draft order is set post-lotto, so what you see until then is very rough. Chad Ford's lotto generator at ESPN gives more accurate predictions. He currently has us taking either Shelden Williams or Brandon Roy in most scenarios. Williams is a JVG kind of player, and Roy is probably the best SG in a weak draft. IMO: I would take Roy over Williams, who looks like an undersized center in the NBA, not a PF.
