Is there already a thread on this? If so point me in the right direction.

But its freakin' frustrating as hell. After playing 2 winning seasons on the Idaho Stampede, I get to an 82 overall (85 now, but I can't/won't dunk) and get a choice of 4 teams to play for. I choose the Thunder and immediately the team is a 91 overall. But here's the problem. I'm a small forward and so is Kevan Durant. Durant is 90 overall, but the damned computer coach starts me over Durant. Now we're 4-16, blowing damned near every game in the final two minutes because the computer players will not miss all the while KD sits on the bench. Help defense is horrendous in this game. I'm sick and tired of getting busted for "leaving my assignment". I'm about ready to just give up. Anyone have any tips? I've already wasted 126 games of my life on this game, might as well figure out how to win.

You played 2 seasons of D- league?

I have been playing a lot and am only a 72ish...it took me a while to realize there were more than 1 page of stats to upgrade....all my shooting stats are 99....but I just got to dunkability.

In order to dunk you need to be above 50...and hold down the right trigger while you are under the rim, and have very good stamina to get up, for the most part, I only dunk on fast breaks.

Im in March of of my 1st season. I was on the Vipers of the D-League for 7 games then the Jazz offered me a contract.

Averaging 18-7-6 as a 6'3 SG and im only a 53 overall. I did choose the "Athletic" player type and have been using all my skill points on my finishing/shooting ability. Im an 85 3-point shooters and a 89 dunk/layup but for some reason still a 53 overall.

Apparently the game pre-patch doesn't allow you to attend a training camp until after your 2nd D-League season. It was totally unfair the second year in D-League. I was mid 70s while everyone was 62 or below. Heh.

    Thanks for the link.

Well I started to upgrade my defensive stats and that little "Stephen A. Smith" looking guy popped up on the bottom of the screen and told me that "That was not my role on the team and it would be useless to upgrade it" so I concentrated on just my offensive.

If my team is down and everybody is missing shots, I just hog the ball. If you run around enough, using screens, you can lose your defender pretty easily.

Also, if you watch the opposing offense's plays closely, you'll be able to memorize where the pass will be and get a steal, given that you're quick enough. Then just get an easy layup or dunk.

    Good luck.

Weird. I think that I suck at this game, and I got an offer from the team (playing PG) I went to summer league with, and decided I wanted to play for the Rockets of course since all teams were interested in inviting me to camp. This is with me having the what is it...40 rating you start with?

I made the squad, as the 3rd PG behind brooks and lowry. Didn't take long for me to crack the starting lineup.

As far as leaving your assignment it should be ok if you are picking up someone else's man in transition or you switched on a pick. I've never gotten in trouble for it. Only when my man scores while someone else is guarding him after a switch.

If you are kind of just running around trying to steal the ball or something, then it'll say you left your assignment.

I would recommend upgrading your "Shoot in Traffic" attribute... this will allow you to finish at the basket better, especially when someone is guarding you. You will definitely notice a difference once you upgrade that stat, especially if you drive to the basket a lot. I have that maxed and have my dunk rating at around 75 and vertical at 99. I'm a 6'2 point guard that dunks on everybody.

I just started a new character. Spent the entire day playing. Game can be rather addictive.

Made it all the way through to an NBA team without ever playing a single D-League game. I beat Juwan Howard out for the final spot on the Portland Trailblazers. But bad idea not going through D-League. Now I'm a 50 overall playing behind LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward. I don't start, but still average 12 minutes a game with 4.8 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 2.4 APG. Once again, coach prefers to play me in crunch time over the better player in Aldridge

    God I need a girlfriend.
