He left CP3 off the list though...

    CP3
    Wade
    Kobe
    Lebron
    Yao

    CP3 for Dwight!
    :)

    It's a recognition.

Glad to see some love from NBA, they had him for their 3rd best D player in the NBA...

What a joke putting two centers on your 1st-team all NBA list in this day and age. Happy for Yao though, I guess.

It'd be really funny that Yao and Howard are in the same conference. Yao will own Howard four times a year and Howard still voted to 1st team while Yao isn't.

There is no Outstanding PF this year.. i think thats why he put Howard at PF.... the best PF this year would've been Gasol this year.. whether Gasol is good enough for 1st team is up to debate...

I would have put CP3 in there for Kobe. Sure Kobe is third in scoring, but none of his other stats stand out. He's a pure scorer who plays on an already talented team. CP3 is scoring 20+ points and leading the league in assists.

    exactly.

    my list would be:
    G - CP3
    G - WADE
    F - LEBRON
    F - PIERCE
C - DWIGHT/YAO (dwight has the stats and better record, but yao is better than him so don't know how voters will choose)

Replace those letters with the letters K-O-B-E, and you would be spot on.

This is the most interesting of all to me. The rap on Yao was he was a poor defender because he lacked good footwork, mobility and athleticism - particularly on the PnR. Interesting that this sentiment that Yao is en elite defender is emerging (being ranked third in the NBA = elite). Regardless of whether or not you believe it to be true, I do find it curious how quickly the prevailing mindset shifts.

Whie I can't stand Kobe, any 1st team NBA team that doesn't include him is DOA in my mind. He is disgustingly good and the most clutch in the league.

He has basically no range, there aren't that many PFs out there with decent offensive ability but no jumpshot. But there are plenty of Cs that fit that description.

Realistically you COULD put him at the PF spot, but you would have to pair him up with a C that has range, and considering the whole "range" issue, people might still consider Howard the C in the line-up with said PF.

I'm trying to think of realistic players you could pair the guy with to where its obvious that Howard is the PF in this situation and have the line-up actually works.

Maybe Yao and Howard? But would that line-up work? Yao and Howard's strengths are both in the low post. Someone like Bargniani would be considered a PF to Howard at C. Maybe someone like Damp or Pryzbilla, that are big, but they also have range.

Garnett has missed more than 20 games this season, so I think it's hard to justify putting him on the All-NBA first team.
