Nice clip! Might be time to declare Yao the best center in the NBA. He could beat out Shaq this year. Go Yao! I'm proud of you big guy.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking when he was talking. It's like Ralph didn't exist in the NBA because his career wasn't long enough.

Today on the drive home.. Charie on 790 was talking about how Ralph is the only player that is close to Yao's height and didn’t play like a stiff.. too bad Ralph’s knees became the downfall of his greatness..

actually usually not that cheesy (maybe in a way a little bit) most sport heads on tv i dont really have a opinion on, or kind of dislike, but this guy is always pretty cool and entertaing.

like someone mentioned the nba needs more guys like him. he genuinly likes the game and is usually pretty excited.

Yea, he was 7'4" but he only had three 20/10 seasons and then trailed off his last two seasons (only 5 seasons total). Also Ralph was only 230 lbs while Yao is 300lbs. I'd say Ralph and Yao are hard to compare and barring injuries, it is clear Yao will be 3x the player Ralph was (due to Ralph's injuries).

Other than Sampson, it is hard to find another guy out there. Kareem is another big guy but he was also a slim guy like Ralph. Yao ain't no slim guy at 300lbs.

Rick Kamla has been a BIG Yao fan as far as I remember since I started watching his show.

What differentiates him from many other TV personalities is this: he's not a hater. Simple as that. The guy will give credit where its due and doesn't quickly get down on players when they have bad nights. He's the anti-Barkley or SAS in that sense.

Though I am not a Yao hater, but aren't we seeing a lot of ass-kissing these days? This will bring more hype and pressure on him to repeat his 27pt, 16reb performance all year... that's not good at all
