Just stop the excessive reviewing by actual on court officials, have the ones at the replay center figure it out, use ear pieces to communicate and a call can stand or be reversed within 20-30 seconds. Let the game just play on and if a mistake was made, make it up on the next play as they do now anyway.
Why can’t we have both? Get rid of it during regular season, but use it in the playoffs. or at least still review for whether a player was out of bounds, but not the endless “who touched the ball last” reviews that don’t include illegally out of bounds players. I’m looking at you Durant and Finley
This is a great change. It’s frustrating to only have one, knowing you may have to let an obvious blown call pass to save it for the end of the game.
I like the idea that if you are successful . .. . . you get another one like Foul Balls . . . . . you get them until on is caught or you miss Rocket River
They need to limit review times. No more than 60 seconds should be the target and preferably closer to 30 seconds. If you can't make a determination that quickly then just go with what you see or the call on the court and move on.
Wasn’t it originally that refs could review anything in the final two minutes? And then they changed it year two? I think that was just as effective. I also think you should retain your flag for another challenge if it’s successful.
I don't understand why it's only one challenge. In the NRL there's a player challenge and if they win they can continue using it throughout the game. Refs make more than one horrible call a game. The winning a challenge and then not being able to do it again never made sense to me. Understanding the argument will be the game will go even longer - the simple fix is put a hard limit on how long officials can watch replays. It is bleeding obvious 9/10 times on one replay, two at max. Yet we'll watch it 10 times.
