Has anybody found online versions of the EGM preview pictures? I thought they were pretty funny since they prominantly feature McGrady and Francis (wearing their former team colors).
I've been saying that forever. Was he not legend enough for the makers of the second game? A custom player with the Hakeem jersey would have been great.
You've got it right. Hakeem was in the first, while Yao was absent. Hakeem disappeared for the second, and Yao showed up. Hakeem was the much better player. I blocked shots all day long. I love goaltending.
nah, i couldnt stand hakeem in the first one, 1. he was a raptor 2. he was shorter than he should have been 3. his stats were the same as ewing's (old sonics ewing) In Street, height is more important than shotblocking skill, thats why takashi and shawn bradley (ugh) were a couple of the best centers in the game.
Yao was in the first one as well. But not under the name Yao Ming. He was a bonus character. At the time, the producer said he modeled the player after Yao. I had no idea who Yao was at the time. If you look at the player, the resemblence (SP?) is certainly there. Even the same haircut!
yeah, cept he was 7'8, actually had a proportional wingspan and Japanese, the lankiness was there, though, thank god its changing. My friends and I always wondered about that. Kind of insulting although probably not intending to be, ever call an italian a spaniard and get a nice reaction? and god or allah be with you if you call an israeli a palestinian.
I think they just didn't want to be accused of stealing Yao's image too closely so as to get sued -- he's done that before you know.
Hakeem was a Rocket in the first game, as shown by this list of the teams and the players on those teams in NBA Street: http://guidesarchive.ign.com/guides/15993/teams.html Maybe you meant he was a Raptor in Vol. 2. I vaguely remember thinking that maybe he made the Raptors squad in the second, and I could still use him on my teams, but I didn't find him. I didn't notice that he was shorter than he should have been, nor did I see that his stats were the same as Ewing. As far as height goes, I was content with Hakeem. I'm a hopeless homer and never play with anyone other than Houston teams on sports games, be it Rockets, Astros, or Texans. I just feel obligated to do so. Hakeem made that obligation a lot easier to deal with.
The point is he's not listed in the "legends" as the best shot blocker, period. It's a crime. It's also a crime that he's not on the 90's all stars team for NBA Live.
I speak the truth. Hakeem has gotten little to no respect on any basketball game since NBA Live 1995.
Hakeem is pretty damn good in NBA 2k2 for dreamcast. I think he's rated at a 100 in NBA 2k3 for XBox too.
I agree that Hakeem doesn't get the video game respect he deserves, but I also notice that Charles Barkley is never on the legends teams....Not in Live, not in Street, not even in Ballers.
I guess this is for the same reason why Kareem Abdul Jabbar is never included. I guess it has something to do that they do not give their rights away for putting them in. It's a shame.
