The rumors are starting to swirl in on twitter, with Cavs vs Warriors on xmas and KD's return to OKC on February 11. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/17247535/oklahoma-city-thunder-host-kevin-durant-february
I know it's rumored, but...this is a terrible idea. GS at OKC needs to be set for Christmas. CLE should obviously still get a home Christmas game as defending champs, but those "Player returns to Former City on Christmas" games always gets big ratings (a la Shaq in LA, and LBJ in Miami); and on Christmas, many "casual fans" will tune in as well.
That's a really good point, but that Christmas Day game would get even higher ratings, especially w/ Christmas being on a Sunday (FWIW). I just remembered something; the NFL will have 2 games on Christmas (Ravens/Steelers at 3:30 PM CT + Broncos/Chiefs at 7:30 PM CT). NBA will likely not have the best matchups on that day other than GS/CLE and a bunch of filler.
Pretty strange. When's the last time the NFL had games on Christmas? I always thought there was some unspoken rule between the NBA and NFL, of how NBA games should never be scheduled for Thanksgiving and how NFL games should never be scheduled for Christmas.
