Although I don't care about Kobe, the person. Kobe the basketball player will probably only end up behind Michael Jordan as the Greatest to lace them up. Rather than hate on Kobe, I've learned to appreciate his game. I'm guessing most of the young guys in my generation probably feel the same. I find it's usually old people that hate on Kobe.
i totally agree with that statement, I was never partial to kobe but his performance down the stretch against the suns in game 6 of the WCF this year blew my mind, i've decided to appreciate greatness while it's still around. Kobe is in fact the last of the heir apparent generation and the last glimpse of MJ this league has, we might as well appreciate everything he does for us.
Very true. We all hate him but truth of the matter is when he's gone we'll probably miss his game. It seems nowadays nobody has that drive to be the best anymore.
i actually like lebron after this summer. He has done more for us while not being in our organization. he teased NY so we could screw over walsh once and hopefully twice in a week or so.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199606160CHI.html On par to Jordan's final game in 1996. I've since heard how 96 bulls' the best team of all time. Never heard of criticism of this final game 6 on Jordan.
That is one of the best examples of Kobe's will to win. He had a crappy shooting night but that didn't stop him from playing great defense and grabbing 15 rebounds...that's crazy from a shooting guard. I don't want to make the MJ comparison, but it's alot like MJ's Finals game mentioned above. MJ had a crappy shooting night but went out and grabbed 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Guys like MJ and Kobe find a way to win, not just by scoring but defense, rebounds, assists...whatever it takes to win. I can't think of any other player out there right now who has that crazed WIN, WIN, WIN attitude. Kobe may be an ***hole but his game is pretty unbelievable and I know I'll miss him when he's retired (just like I missed MJ, Magic, Hakeem when they hung 'em up).
