Guys with too high jersey numbers.

You know who you are, Gooden....I'm looking at you Ron Artest.

    It's not right.

    It's just....WEIRD.

Stop it guys, come on. Do you really want to follow Rodman and the rest of the freaks like Gheorghe?

At least Gheorghe did it because he was 7 foot 7 basically. So that matched.much like Bradley. but the rest of the freaks i don't get. I know there was a story behind Rodman as well. Artest is just a nutcase.

1991 was the first year Rodman dyed his hair, hence '91. jk, i really dont know

I think Ron Artest just wants to get more jersey sales by making his fans buy a new jersey every year, that's smart.

I like the high jersey numbers. I' sick of everyone copying mj with 23, or everyone wearing #3, 1, 5, 32, 34. Like mj made #23 famous, players should starts making new numbers identified with them

Nothing beats Gilbert Arenas rocking the zero. Freaking weirdo.

I remember reading somewhere that Rodman couldn't get #10 with the Bulls so ended up going for numbers that added up to 10. So he started with 10 on the Pistons and Spurs, went to 91 with the Bulls, 73 with the Lakers. Just what I heard.

I'm not a fan of 0 but if there's one player that can get away with it, it's Gilbert. Hell if Gilbert wore a triple digit number, I'd probably be ok with it.

This is precisely why I couldn't understand why Kobe wanted to change his jersey number. #24 is just a generic number and doesn't stand out in any way.

On the other hand, he could've been forever referred to as "#8"...I still don't get it.

I don't mind the high numbers.. they can do whatever they want with the number. Too bad for Kobe for changing his number.. he had #8 all to himself in the NBA.. till he changed it. Idiot.

I like TMac's #1. If he only plays like one right now.. oh how great that would be for this team.

Anyone know why #8 changed to #24?

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Dictator Stern decides he wants to piss everybody off again and implements some kind of rule forbidding players to wear numbers over 50 or something like that.

I don't care what numbers people wear, but stick with the same number unless you go to a team where that number is taken/retired.

Gilbert can't have that number -- they retired it when Karl Malone retired.

On Rodman's #91 I remember reading in his book that the reason he choose that number was because of the number 911- he was saying, When you are in need of help/ in an emergency what are the first two numbers you dial? 91.. I thought that was an interesting way of choosing his number.

Gilbert Arenas' 0 doesn't compare to the original number 0

[IMG], who had a better reason for it than Gilbert....
